Happy Italian Heritage Month, New York.
Here’s continuing to fight for Vito Marcantonio’s vision of a government that works for all working people.

After three months out of public view, reporters were "barred from recording video" of a sitting United States senator. This is an absurdity; an embarrassment to Sen. McConnell and to the American press. These people work for us. We cannot let this go on.
Since Robert Kraft is in the news, this is a good time to remind you what he did.
In 2019, he went twice in two days to a massage parlor in Jupiter, FL.
The first time he got a handjob.
The second time he got a blowjob.
Cops were already suspicious of the place so they had cameras that caught it all.
BUT...
Bob is a billionaire. So he hired the best lawyers money could buy for "high 6 to low 7 figures" and they found a judge who ruled the cameras violated the law and tossed everything out.
Bob walked.
The women did not. They were arrested and charged with prostitution.
So in short.. fuck that guy and his holier than thou moral charade.
“Weird Al” Yankovic turned down a million-dollar offer to perform in Saudi Arabia because "I don’t need to take any amount of money if it makes me feel icky."
"I was invited to the Riyadh Comedy Festival, which is something that I obviously did not want to do. They offered me, I’m not going to say how much, but it was seven figures to do one show, which is way more than I’ve ever been offered in my life to do a show. But I just couldn’t be part of that. I’m not dissing anybody that took the money because I’m sure everybody that went there got a lot of money. I’m sure they had their own reasons and justifications for doing it. But I’m doing enough that I don’t need to take any amount of money if it makes me feel icky, and that kind of did.” (via TribLive)

Hell yeah. Don't let bosses convince you that you don't deserve more. Don't let someone who hoards $100 million tell you that working people don't deserve $100,000. Instead organize and get yours.

I dont care to talk about LIRR but I will say its very telling that these people say its a unions responsibility to "be reasonable and not try to get as much pay for as little work," but employers seeking to get as much value for as little pay is "perfectly natural"

LIRR strike lasted a whopping 3 days, just enough time for hoards of tech guys and ""urbanists"" to scream bloody murder about how union members are all mendacious blood suckers. Talk about showing your whole ass
Tonight, the @MTA reached a fair deal with the five LIRR unions that delivers raises for workers while protecting riders and taxpayers.
I’m pleased to announce that phased LIRR service will resume beginning tomorrow at noon.

lmfao at everyone who used a like three day work stoppage to channel their inner entitled suburbanite and scream about how public workers unions are the devil incarnate

This yimby has been mad for days that blue collar workers at LIRR earn $200k.
$200k is the amount needed to rent a $5k/month apartment, market rate for a 1 bed in Manhattan.
I’m supposed to think train engineers deserve to live in the city less than Yimby’s do?
Why?
vorleon retweeted
I think it's fine for LIRR workers to ask for 200k, or more. Billionaires have been telling us for years that we need to capitulate to their preferred tax rates or else—and our government concedes to them. Why should the workers who can actually bring large swaths of this city to a halt be expected to not wield that power? Why do we accept the people at the very, very top—who have nothing in common with us—using leverage to get ahead, but not the people one tax bracket up who live and work in our communities?

Well. For days Yimby’s have told us that they ONLY hate public sector unions bc tax payers fund their salaries.
A private sector union bargains for the salary needed to afford market rate housing in this city, and they’re still furious.
No blue collar workers allowed in NYC.
