in 2022 a crypto founder dm'd me on instagram to try his app
I told him with this design users won't trust it, and they'll just leave
He hired me to fix it. 4 years later he still comes back with new products
I've been saying the same thing ever since. We designed Continuum, a web3 app, from zero. They raised $2M and hit 65.5% stickiness. We designed for a defi protocol with 40k+ holders, and a self-custody wallet with an ai agent for @unhosted. I did design explorations with the co-founder of @LiskHQ. Before that, I designed at @DeFi. 30+ crypto, fintech and ai products so far.
With @sollasdesign we find where users get lost, say it straight, and fix it right in the live product. You approve decisions, you don't manage a designer
New users decide in the first minute whether they trust your product with their money and a prettier ui won't change that
Two crypto founders told me they'll do design themselves with AI. Sounds like a great deal: a ton of saved time and money.
I've been designing crypto products since 2018. Building with AI too? Here's what it won't do for you.
AI makes decent screens quickly. But it gives you what most apps do.
A wallet founder told me our best decision was cutting his onboarding and to ask why some features were being built at all.
result in the video - seed phrase backup to iCloud. (with amazing animation!)
After that, more people finished onboarding and got into the wallet.
AI knows what apps usually look like but it doesn't know your users. We do
We designed a product for a founder, and it never made it into the app. His devs built it their own way 🤮
Agency update - now we're moving to designing straight in code with Claude. I'm teaching my designers to work this way too.
So instead of a Figma file, you'll get a live product.
Next up: UX testing with real users before shipping it
80% of our clients came to us right around a raise or a launch. Raising or launching in the next 3 months? This one is for you.
That's when the product gets judged. Investors look. First users try it and decide
Xerg came to us before their raise. We didn't rebuild the product, just ironed the suit:
- a brand that makes a small team look serious
- a clear site that brings in first users
- a dashboard fix so they don't drop off
Most founders wait for the money to fix the product.
But the product is part of how you get the money.
If you're building a crypto app, guess which of these two onboardings the client picked.
we made both for perps trading on hyperliquid inside Unhosted, a self-custody wallet with an AI agent. A or B?
A year after our project ended, a wallet founder told me the best decision we made was cutting his onboarding. More people finished it and actually got into the wallet. Building a crypto app? Here's what we did:
- Seed phrase backup to iCloud
- No annoying system permissions
- Short, optional feature explanations

Most founders overuse onboarding to explain the product. But trying it once beats hearing about it 100 times.
Binance asked me how i'd adapt the interface for gen z. If you're building crypto app, short version: speak like a human
Across 30+ crypto and fintech products i've seen the same thing: the number is correct, and the user still has no idea what it means for their money.
"liquidation price $58,420" is accurate. "if btc drops 8%, you lose everything you put in" is understood.
Robinhood succeeded because it spoke like a real human. simple by default.
Most crypto founders build for people who already pro, and lose everyone else on the first flow.
But the ones who grow know: nobody puts real money into a game they don't understand the rules of!
we designed brand, site and dashboard for a defi protocol with 40k+ holders in 8 weeks. Crypto founders launching soon, every decision answered one question:
would you put your money into something you heard about yesterday?
Brand that reads like a store of value, not a shitty token launch.
A site that shows what backs it before asking for a wallet.
Dashboard with numbers, and without jargon.
most crypto founders leave the first impression for after launch, when there's budget. but launch is exactly when it gets judged. a new user decides whether to trust you before anything else.
we did brand, website and dapp for new gold protocol, defi 3.0 on bnb chain used by 40k+ holders
