Eric Hoffer wrote this article about Israel almost 60 years go. It reads like it was written yesterday. "The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it, Turkey threw out a million Greeks, and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese-and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis. Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world. Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews. No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him. The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway. The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general. I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

Tucker Carlson was promoting baseless conspiracy theories about Chabad on his show last night. If you want to know the real truth about Chabad, "Rebbe" by Joseph Telushkin is a good source to read.

They do this because it works. Their proxies did it repeatedly and successfully convinced half of America that Israel just loves to kill civilians.

If Jews are just .2% of the global population, how do they make up 80% of Israel’s population? I’m just asking questions.

For all those who asked, here is a clip of @havivrettiggur responding to masked protesters interrupting his lecture at Haverford College on February 1, 2026. Enjoy and learn.
At Haverford College, I didn’t encounter a great and powerful political movement. I met neglected children surrounded by adults who failed to challenge them, teach them or inculcate substance, grit and nuance. My piece in ⁦@TheFP⁩ thefp.com/p/why-i-let-anti-i…

If you think @AIPAC should be registered as a foreign agent while Amal Clooney writes the actual constitution for the Muslim Brotherhood, Tucker Carlson wines and dines in Qatar, Ilhan Omar represents Somalia in Congress and Rashida Talib has a huge Palestinian flag on the door of her office in congress, you are an anti-semite. There is no way around it.

Just listened to the latest @ezraklein episode with John Ganz, and I’m blown away by the total lack of self-awareness about antisemitism on the far-left… even as they diagnose the exact same patterns on the far-right with Fuentes and Carlson. They accurately describe antisemitism as “blaming every social problem on the Jews”—and call out the far-right conspiracy that “Jews, or maybe the Israeli government,” run the porn industry (WTF?) But then they completely skip over Mamdani, who does the exact same thing: taking every grievance in New York and tracing it back to the Jews (fine, only the Jews in Israel). When Mamdani said, “when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, the IDF laced it,” that is Fuentes-level scapegoating. The only difference is that Mamdani openly describes his strategy as building a political coalition around making the Jewish state the enemy. In 2021, he literally argued that to mobilize New Yorkers, you must connect “the struggle against austerity” to “the struggle against the funding of Israeli Apartheid.” How do Klein and Ganz not see that Mamdani and Fuentes are two ends of a horseshoe now meeting? Klein whitewashes Mamdani, “I don’t think there’s anything antisemitic about him at all,” and treats antizionism—the political project to eliminate an existing democratic state—as if it’s about human-rights. How can he not see the movements Mamdani and Fuentes come from are mirror images? And it gets worse. Both Fuentes (far-right, bad) and Ganz (progressive, good) are spreading the same libel about Israel: that its war to free the hostages and dismantle Hamas was “genocide.” Can they not see that they're engaging in the same libel and demonization? They would want you to believe that while they both claim to care about a "genocide," Fuentes is only crying crocodile tears to hate against Jews. But it's the genocide lie that's fueling hatred and violence against Jews in the first place. And both far-right and far-left are fueling that same hoax. Yes, the American far-right has a massive antisemitism problem. The rise of Carlson and Fuentes should alarm anyone who cares about the wellbeing of Jews or the health of American democracy. And that problem is being mirrored on the far-left, where far too many useful idiots can’t see that they are reproducing the same patterns of hate by making up libels about Jews and tracing all the world's problems back to them. Antizionism is a hate movement. It builds coalitions on both extremes—and increasingly between them—by mobilizing politics against Jews. It poisons democracy. And it needs to be called out wherever it appears.

Let's be clear. The hostages were not released. They were not freed. They were not let go. The Hostages were ransomed at an incredibly high price. Hundreds of bloodthirsty terrorists were released, and billions of aid were paid for their release.
