Finally got to hold my Kemper Freeman 2026 Courage Award. I dedicate it to our volunteers and educators on the streets who teach us that addiction is the monkey on the back of our service-resistant souls. Thank you, John Carlson and Kemper Development. @KVIJohnCarlson
NEW: So many highlights at this year's WA State GOP Annual Dinner.
Independent journalist Nick Shirley energized the crowd and is mobilizing people into action.
A huge Turning Point USA high school coalition is fueling the conservative youth movement in the state.
And We Heart Seattle's Andrea Suarez won this year's Kemper Freeman Courage Award, carrying on an incredible legacy of service to the community.

Today men and women in recovery cleaned the St. Mark’s Cathedral Greenbelt removing needles, pipes, rotting furniture, and trash off an urban hiking trail.
Many of them once lived in these greenbelts. Today they showed up to give back. Grateful for every one of them.
Cleaning up trash saves lives.
Thank you to Hope & Chance, Battlefield Addiction, and the JBLM Air Force volunteers who joined us.
Where are the environmentalists? Voting matters.

Kids are unsafe in Seattle’s most prestigious park. This man Anthony has admitted to hanging out on this bench at Volunteer Park for years. He left his bag of Crystal Meth aka “ice” unattended near a children’s playground. Basic laws are not being enforced in Seattle, children are paying the price. @SeattleCouncil @MayorofSeattle @GovBobFerguson @SeattlePD @WAPolicyCenter @DiscoveryCWP @ChangeWash

We Heart Seattle hosted a packed room at the Art Love Salon on Friday.
People from every background—different races and ethnicities, across the political spectrum, from every economic walk of life, showed up and stayed in the conversation. The room was loud in the best way. People didn’t want to stop talking.
We made new friends and humanized our frenemies. What stood out was simple: everyone there cares about people and cares about Seattle.
On homelessness, addiction, crime, and public safety, we still need to find real, life-saving common ground. Friday was a start.
This video captures the evening. Watch: 👇🏼
Washington volunteers says they were probed for cleaning up needles dailymail.com/news/article-1…
State of Washington is investigating We Heart Seattle for picking up the needles and fentanyl foil they hand out.
For six years we’ve removed hundreds of thousands of pieces of used drug paraphernalia from Seattle parks, greenbelts, and neighborhoods, the exact litter created by government-funded distribution programs.
Now L&I is investigating us for “improperly” collecting the same needles and foil that officials freely distribute and then leave for communities to deal with. This bureaucratic overreach will drain time and resources meant for cleanups and outreach.
If you believe this is hypocritical and want the work to continue, support us today: weheartseattle.org
We pick up what they drop. Don’t let them stop us.

Love these kids all the way from Montana who are cleaning our parks. Thank you Praying Pelican Missions!
Key points with @SandraSmithFox on @FoxNews @AmericaRpts 1: We are repeating the failed approach of giving addicts free housing before medical detox and psychiatric care 2: Drugs are not free thus crime upticks in nearby neighborhoods 3: The government enables addiction
I figured out the most humane policy several years ago by picking up trash. I’m so relieved the federal government switched from housing first to recovery first. 💚👏🏼

This is deeply personal.
For years we gave Michelle everything: case management, friendship, community, even restoring her stable housing. She still battles severe mental illness and keeps choosing the sidewalk tent. She says we abandoned her. We didn’t. Policymakers did.
This is why good social workers burn out and quit. We have boundaries too.
Compassionate intervention isn’t cruelty, it’s the only thing left.
@MayorofSeattle @SeattleCouncil @SeattlePD What is your plan for the drug-addicted, mentally ill, service-resistant population?
Enough is enough.

I'm curious as to why deep-pocket donors don't put pressure on Plymouth Housing to stop housing fentanyl dealers and handing out drug use paraphernalia. They run neo-sweep apartments where anything goes. No reciprocity of behaviors in exchange for free forever housing. People are carried out of their facilities in body bags, yet the wealthy empty their wallets for this organization instead of putting pressure on them to reform their policies. These policies kill people and amp up criminal behavior in every city where they are located across our region. If you went to their Seattle Dances gala on Saturday and gave them money, I ask why you don't put pressure on them to change their ways. They're killing people with their permissiveness and hurting our cities. Please help instead of just writing a check.
NEW: Over the weekend, "Seattle Dances" raised more than $1.5 million dollars for Plymouth Housing, a controversial non-profit claiming to be solving homelessness. Organizers even managed to rope in local journalists and "celebrities" to push their agenda.
But critics crashed this party with a protest, to educate Seattle's donor class about what's really happening inside these so called "permanent supportive housing" facilities.
Just look at the 911 calls and police reports that continue to show a pattern of crime, chaos, and death whenever Plymouth buildings are built in communities.
I'm dropping a more in-depth story later today. Here's a preview. 🧵👇

A Mother and young Son give testimony that housing before treatment enabled his addiction for years. Listen to Sage explain first hand the failures of Housing First. Ultimately it was the higher power of God that set him free. It’s promising that @SecretaryTurner and @HUDgov are ensuring faith based organizations get their fair share of the budget and that housing with compulsory services be adopted by local municipalities. @KCPubHealth @MayorofSeattle @kcexec
Watch for yourself what “affordable housing” or “housing first” looks like in Seattle. Rosa hasn’t slept in her apartment in over a year and instead lives on the streets where we met. She invited me into her home to see why she doesn’t sleep there. DESC a 100M NPO keeps building more and more housing projects without first investing in the need for supportive services they claim to offer (and on your tax paying dollar). 👇🏼Rosa is educating voters and I hope you listen to her. @HUDgov

Another random run in with a Mom and addicted Son who stopped to give me their testimony of Housing First. Christopher lives @PlymouthHousing and has been a volunteer for We Heart Seattle until the CEO banned me from recruiting more residents to come out with us. She proclaimed they were too vulnerable to volunteer 🙄 Listen to Christopher tell us that treatment before housing would be better. I wish Homeless, Inc. would stop suing the feds and start looking and listening to suffering addicts like Christopher and his heartbroken Mom. @HUDgov @MayorofSeattle @kcexec

A Mom with toddler awaits her drug dealer to let her in to a Plymouth Housing project. Tax Payer funded Plymouth on Stewart houses four major known drug dealers in Seattle. The rest of the residents “are drug addicted thieves” according to my trusted sources. Housing doesn’t end crime, addiction, or street loitering. @MayorofSeattle @kcexec @HUDgov
