I can confirm that I will stand for election at next week’s Special Nomination Convention.
11% is a stretch. It will be much closer than that. However, now that the primary is over and Republicans have started to gel behind @ZachLahn it’s realistically time to shift this race back into Lean R, territory.

Yesterday, I joined Congressman Zach Nunn to file our candidacy paperwork with the Iowa Secretary of State. This morning, my candidacy was officially certified to appear on the ballot for the Republican nomination for Iowa Senate.

In 2021, then State Senator @ZachNunn sponsored a bill in Iowa that required all Mail ballots to be received by the County Auditor by 8pm on Election Day. This system was implemented in 2022 and has not resulted in a decline in early votes. This should be the National Standard.

What I love about the Notch is that everyone will spend the next 20 desperately looking for any clues on how this election will go. While tiny and overall insignificant, this result will be talked about incessantly all day. Kind of a genius way for a town to get national press.
