Game 1 of a double day hopefully. A first ever trip to The Shay, home of the Shaymen since 1921 - what a lovely old ground this is! Proper. Club were super helpful with parking so can’t thank them enough for that! Planning :). Inside the seats are lovely, spacious and plentiful.
One thing I do want to mention though is pricing. £58 to bring a family of four to this game feels too much. £68 if the kids are 13-17. Am I wrong? Over 1200 in, so lots are paying it.
It's 10th v 5th, Halifax on 21 points and Yeovil on 28 pushing for the play-offs. Lucas Houghton makes his Halifax debut today apparently. Former 🦁 Hayden Muller in the lineup for Yeovil.
On the pitch the first half had its bright sparks but neither team really had a fully clear cut chance - best going to Yeovil, where their striker was almost through but Halifax’s keeper was out fast to smother the ball. No score at the break.
Took the half time to grab some roast potato’s and gravy. Am I doing this right, Northeners? £6.80 for that and a drink, seems fair!
Into the second half and on 59 minutes a freekick for the home side is converted, possibly against the run of play overall I’d say. Yeovil not at the levels of when I saw them earlier this season though.
If 1-0 was a little unfair, 2-0 on 67 minutes was even more so. And just to really prove these things come in threes, Yeovil had Davies sent off for a second yellow (absolute stone wall) a few minutes later, much to the delight of the home fans.
@FCHTOnline had a few more attempts on goal, but 2-0 was the final score!
