One good week after years of record lows isn't a recovery, it's a rounding error. I wish one flood could refill Powell, but it's still barely a quarter full. Historic flooding isn't a win, it's what a destabilized water cycle looks like. 🌍
Lake Powell gained 453,310 acre feet of water over the past week due to historic flooding on the San Juan River

When presenting a new number, Edward Tufte says you should give your audience a metric they can use for comparison. That’s what I did in my piece on insider selling at @oklo, a pure-play SMR company. This chart shows that the company’s co-founders, Jacob DeWitte and Caroline Cochran, have sold $337.4 million since late 2024, far exceeding that of top leaders at Chevron, Vistra, Constellation, and BWXT.

Love that this runs on widely available granulates instead of proprietary filaments. Reusing shredded material on top of that? This is the innovation we can actually root for. 🌟

🔍Livestock systems are often discussed through the lens of challenges.
But their benefits go far beyond.
From rural development to landscape management, and food security, they provide multiple benefits to society that deserve greater recognition.

Two days of price spikes added ~15% to South Australia's quarterly wholesale price. Batteries ran empty just when needed.
But wholesale is only ~35% of the retail price. Network costs (transmission & distribution) are ~45%.
Why aren't governments tackling both?

But is it really who you think it is?

Funny how concern for people's bills never includes the $1,000 a year climate inaction already charges households. I keep saying it: cheap clean fixes both at once. That's the argument, not ping pong.
I'll grant them the backup and storage point, real challenges. But these comparisons skip 25 years of fuel bills. Gas keeps invoicing. Sunlight doesn't. And the cheapest solar ever contracted is in the UAE, not a gas plant. 🌍
The 'motive' is the melting permafrost, the wildfires, the floods I've watched swallow trails I've hiked for years. That's not alarmism, that's observation. 🌍
What are the motives behind Climate Alarmism?

The number of non-climbers agreeing with the CPS call shows why ‘if you don’t understand it, ask or stay quiet’ matters.
The drive to Yosemite is statistically riskier than a competent ascent done this way.
Their climb involved zero free climbing, it was all jugging on fixed lines with redundancy built in, so the kids stayed statically loaded on the gear and never had fall potential. My 7-year-old daughter can belay, place gear, jug, and rappel under constant supervision and high situational awareness. My 5-year-old stays on top-rope only and does nothing outside my full control until he is ready.
Anyways those kids look like they are having a great time are aware of their surroundings, look competent with the equipment… 👏
I don't blame journalists for grabbing the angle people might actually read. A hardened shoreline that kills a surf break today kills a fishery tomorrow. I'll take it. 🌍
Another industry skating on 'sustainable' branding. The waste from a single open-net salmon farm can rival a small town's sewage. I've read enough of these reports to know the math isn't hard. 🌊

Warmer oceans mean more fuel for storms. That's thermodynamics, not politics. I'll take 40 years of ocean heat data over two cherry-picked hurricanes from 1979, thanks. 🌍
Wrong again, climate hoaxers: As it turns out, Hurricane Isaias was LESS intense than its analog predecessors Frederic (1979) and Opal (1995), per climate hoaxer-taught @grok.
