this partisan framing has got to stop from our so called non-partisan journalist in chief. burying the most important and historic lede (the first NYCHA slate - FEC tenants - winning) is egregious
NEW: Former City Council candidate Layla Law-Gisiko has been elected a delegate to the NYC-DSA convention. Law-Gisiko had come under fire from other DSA members for donating to anti-DSA candidates & appearing alongside MAGA City Council Member Vickie Paladino at a presser.

are dsa people a tu ally mad at this or is it just ultras outside of the org with parasocial fandoms to caucuses like they are houses in game of thrones? if you're mad at this you are the bad type of gay
The first time I was a delegate to NYC-DSA convention was 2022. It's the very heart of DSA's democracy. And this year, I’m voting for the Socialist Majority slate. Vote by Sunday night: vote.socialistmajority.com/n…

The right in NYC DSA didn't oppose RAD/PACT in any meaningful way. The laboratory of its policy, HJ4A, and the electeds have been pushing the "alternative" to RAD in Trust privatization since 2020. HJ4A/NYCDSA leaders abandoned Sec9 tenants since before most of yall joined.

A tenacious group of tenants is fighting a teardown plan in one of Manhattan's most desirable neighborhoods that could spell the end of public housing as we know it? I wrote for @newrepublic about their struggle and the fate of government-run homes in the US.

One thing YIMBY’s aren’t telling you is that tenants who are forced out NYCHA units aren’t guaranteed the same number of bedrooms. A family of 4 who lived in 3 bedrooms can be jammed into 1. Not to mention the well known eviction issue w/ PACT. Many mechanisms for displacement
Just to be clear. This redevelopment goes from 2,000 old NYCHA units to: 2,000 new NYCHA units, plus 1,000 additional new affordable units, plus 2,000 new market rate units And the old buildings don’t come down until the new buildings have been built and NYCHA residents move in.

Everyone who says this is a market socialist and theyre frankly correct to say it because a campaign is no good place to explain to dumb ass Americans what market socialism is

Groundwork is building NYC-DSA into a party. Over the last year, we have been leading in our electoral campaigns, eco socialist organizing, tax the rich organizing, and beyond.

Let’s be honest about why GW is going so hard for the demolition of public housing. “We need housing now.” WE as in the upper middle class white people who comprise much DSA’s base. Bulldoze the Black and brown tenants out, replace them with white market rate tenants. YIMBY 101.

Not every single decision should come to a community vote big dawg. I know you adore nimby tactics like harassing city councils to block apartment buildings, but we need housing NOW

Most tenants DO NOT agree with the plan. Only 550 (16%) of the residents voted for what was misleadingly called “new construction.” The word demolition wasn’t used in NYCHA’s survey. FEC residents’ own survey collected over 1,000 no demolition signatures.

no, the definition of social housing — under DSA's own Housing Justice Commission. back to the original point, City if Yes is in fact privatization and this person should never be listened to when talking about housing issues. just loudly and arrogantly showing their ignorance.
do you think that actually-existing social housing isn’t cross-subsidized?

A month ago, DSA rw’ers in Groundwork lost their minds that the Nypost “doxxed” Gustavo (a public representative of NYC-DSA who lied on the record to the press to hide his own family wealth) and now they’re actually doxxing public housing activists to discredit them.
