Umm..no the don't. And even if one were to stop then It wouldn't be for public health reasons. (This bit is sad I know)

But they exist the race when that happens due to public health concerns, no?

Welcome to Rome. Get the with the program. Best.
Two things can be true at the same time. Yes it was my first half marathon. But also I am allowed to be disgusted by people trashing. There was a clean up crew. I saw them doing a good job btw. An investment in bins after the hydration points would have helped a lot.

Obviously
Friendly reminder that your Strava marathon PR isn’t necessarily your actual marathon PR. My Chicago Marathon: Strava PR: 2:33:28 Official time: 2:34:49 As much as I’d love to claim the faster time, I can’t. Your marathon PR is the time you actually crossed the finish line in, not the fastest 26.2 miles your watch recorded.

Data tells you what you want to hear actually It really bothers me sometimes 😂

Isn't that a sign that marathons are easy to complete?

On the littering convo, isn't that standard marathon practice and the organizers usually plan for litter pick up? Esp when the waste collectors are sparse. Ama ni mimi sielewi.

I always have this weird feeling that whenever I stop during a race, I’ll end up stopping again. Sadly, some people here with much running experience think you should just stop racing and call it a bad day since you’re not getting prize money either way.
Watu hawajawai kimbia full marathon, at 3:40min/km pace wanasema usimame uende loo, urudi, hawajui ukisimama that's the end of the race.

Kuna wenye wanauliza if he did all that for the same medal that everyone got and that made me accept that normies just won't get it. Nibbas really think it's about the medal 😭😭
Most people castigating Mak Mansa for exposing his ‘shitting’ story are mostly not runners. When George Kusche shit himself during Comrades the entire world new, it happens And it is such a small thing for anyone to be ashamed of. Kwendeni na standards zenu za what people should be ashamed of. Mnaboo

What if msee alimchukulia kit and they only met on the morning of the run at the venue?
Kuna mtu nliona kwa race akiwa na hadi blueband yenye ilikuwa kwa race kit😂😂😂 Like hungeiwacha home? Like they just carried the entire bag as was issued.

It's very impressive that they were cleaning the trash up in real time though. I mean, the organisers know that you want to achieve your best time and they provide full support for you to do that. Hii ni ngori yako personal 😭
One thing that did piss me off at the Standard Chartered Marathon is how many people were littering. People kept throwing the tetra pak water bottles & the cups they were given at the hydration stations on the road. I was horrified. These are people who should know better.

We had a great run🎉🎉 We aimed for 3.15 but we are grateful for 3.26🫡 We tried so much not to lose the tempo, at some point I had to tell God, ‘remember venye tulibonga’ because the legs were giving in but we held on. Was happy to meet my Uni class mate Dr. Allan Langat, a good man.
