Springfield, Ohio, has seen its small population grow by over 20%, driven almost entirely by immigrants.
During Tuesday's debate, former President Donald Trump repeated baseless claims that Haitian immigrants in the city are abducting and eating people's pets.
Local officials have debunked the claim, telling PBS News there has been no uptick in crime related to Haitian residents and they have not seen any reports of people's pets being kidnapped.

NPR's @DaraKerr follows a hunch and reveals a tech billionaire's vast acquisition of land in Hawaii. He make clear with some menace that he was tracking her and had personal information about her family.
That tech mogul is Time magazine owner Marc Benioff.
A must read deep-dive piece of reporting by/from NPR's @darakerr. "During that call, he also mentioned he knew the exact area where I was staying. Unnerved, I asked how he knew..."
