I'm really curious why so many people are liking this tweet. Especially people who don't follow me and don't have the additional context of me being trans.
Recently, I was talking with three women in Japanese about my love life, while three men talked in Dutch about fishing equipment (?) on the other side of the living room. "What are you guys talking about?" asks one of the men in English. "Girl stuff", responds his wife.

Lmao Flavio Bolsonaro has been without Parliamentary immunity for all of 24 hours and he has so many criminal cases going into gear that the police is already asking he surrenders his passport to avoid him fleeing corruption charges

On the one hand, there is value in the process of learning a language. On the other hand, I'd love to be able to stick a USB-C cable into a port on the back of my neck, go to sleep, and wake up the next morning with a solid understanding of Chinese installed firmly into my brain.

That having been said, I imagine that it would not be a good idea to download a language into your brain. To a certain extent that would mean letting someone else decide for you how you process language, and, by extension the world. Better to form your own neural pathways.

This book has 22 citations in Google Scholar, but I can't find any digital copies whatsoever, nor can I find webpages to buy a copy, and there are no Dutch libraries that have it 😭

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

Shady stuff happening in Brazil’s election, with certain pro-Lula areas experiencing public officials refusing to release 100% of bus fleets, meaning people can’t get to vote in time. Many domestic flights to Lula’s northeast bastions have been cancelled too.

Genuinely the h3 pod has gained value because of the cheating. It’s been made watchable by looking for the clues

I don't care if Tamara Joseph wasn't a "girl's girl" to Hila. She got her bag and technically did more damage to the IDF than anyone else on the show. In this house Tamara is a hero, end of story

Morpheus: You take the blue pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. You take the red pill--well, the same thing, really. Neo: Huh? Morpheus: They're both estrogen. Same dosage, too. Just different manufacturers. Now choose.

Staying the night with people I've only met for the first time today, over 100km away from home, and suddenly found out they're actually friends of a friend of two of my really good friends in Japan. I'm sidequesting so hard today.
