I tifosi del #Vitesse, la squadra della città olandese di #Arnhem, ogni anno in occasione dell’anniversario dell’operazione #MarketGarden, rendono onore ai caduti britannici.
On this day 1944 the intense fighting at the van Limburg Stirum school ended. The defenders my dad among them, had run out of ammunition. The school was on fire, they tried to escape but were surrounded and captured. Dad is front left, six months later he escaped from a POW camp.

Voor de Zuid-tribune in GelreDome verschijnt voorafgaand aan Vitesse-Jong PSV (wederom) een schitterend eerbetoon aan de Airborne.
This time 82 years ago my Dad had just parachuted into occupied Holland. Having extracted himself from the tree he landed in. He and his troop as Royal Engineers attached to Col. Frosts 2 Para marched the 8km to Arnhem Bridge, where all their lives would change forever
Toddler sitting GD2 this week. I’ve just spent the last half an hour being chased around the living room by a “properdile” 🐊 😂

If anyone is wanting to go & lay flowers I suggest you do so at the rear of the Police HQ on Stainton Way where there is a lovely little spot that has been made with pictures of both officers & some beautiful floral tributes. Don’t lay near the scene as they are being mixed
RIP Roger. A day I’ll never forget…..
Remembering PC Roger Brereton, of Thames Valley Police, who died on duty on this day in 1987.
He was among 16 victims who lost their lives in the Hungerford shooting.
Remembering all those who lost their lives that day, and the families left behind.

A very long read but a great debunking of the weather conspiracy nuts.

Many people will remember Phil Oakey, the lead singer of the 80s band Human League. Fewer people will recall that the practice of people singing along to pre-recorded music in pubs and clubs was started by his sister Carrie.
