I’m Greg, a background supervisor, background artist, layout artist and board games illustrator who's previously worked on shows such as Smiling Friends and Hazbin Hotel!
I’m next available for any job or freelance opportunities very late this year.
Been working on an article about how BG layout saves time/money, lets backgrounds be made in tighter schedules and results in better work in episodic pipelines where dozens, or even 100s of BGs need to be made weekly
Keep an eye out for it in the next week or two probably!

This was my first time in a layout role and I moved interstate with just 4 days notice to work on it, slept on a friends couch for the first few weeks while being thrown right into the deep end. I learnt so much on this job!

Allan's apartment - from the Smiling Friends season 2 vault!
I designed this early in production on S2. Most of the room was never seen except for part of the painting on the very right when Allan is at the door talking to the landlord.
Today was a bittersweet day, the final two episodes aired of a show that’s really defined my career over the last seven years, and in a way has been my baby.
And the production team at Adult Swim were incredible. They fully trusted me, letting me do managment tasks that are often done by a producer, while always being totally supportive of everything backgrounds needed to stay on schedule and meet the quality expected on such a show.
