Let’s shine some light on malicious, despicable, and CRIMINAL billing practices currently perpetrated by a certain medical facility. Here’s what Guadalupe Regional Medical Center (GRMC) in Texas just did: I see a cardiologist in town once a year. This year’s appointment with him (about two weeks ago) included a referral for a procedure to be conducted outside of his office – an echocardiogram/ultrasound (one or both) at the hospital facility GRMC in downtown Seguin, Texas. GRMC contacted me by text the day prior to the appointment, to answer their questions and to sign agreements through their automated system. At the end of the question and signature process, they included the fee for the procedure - $2047. Outrageously overinflated, but whatever. That’s where we are. I would have paid what they asked, and intended to. But the system wanted payment over the phone, which I was not going to provide. I didn’t even know exactly what I was paying for at the time, and intended to learn the specifics when I arrived at the facility for the appointment the following day. But bear in mind, I was only learning about the actual fee about 24 hours before being handed the bill. I’m self-pay – I do not and will not participate in the fraudulent scam which health insurance has become in this country. Self-pay used to mean you could expect a somewhat more reasonable bill for services rendered in the medical industry. No longer is that the case. I closed out of the text window without submitting the requested payment for the reasons stated. About 20 minutes later I received a phone call from a GRMC representative who quickly informed me that the quoted fee of $2047 was only an estimate, and that if payment was not submitted in full prior to the procedure, I would be charged an additional EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. I had intended to pay half upon my arrival at their facility, and would agree to pay the other half next month. I said to the rep on the phone, “I don’t believe I heard you correctly, so could you please repeat what you just said? My intention is to pay half of this bill I’m only now learning about one day before the procedure, and then pay the other half next month. Did you just tell me that you’ll charge me an additional $800 to do so?” The rep confirmed that is indeed what she said. This earned her about two minutes of my very emphatic displeasure, wherein I used terms like “disgusting” and “malevolent” and “criminal.” I reminded her that the people in this country who don’t have insurance are generally among those already on a razor’s edge, and that they’re the ones who can LEAST afford to be stolen from by their medical providers. She then asked me if she could have her manager call me. I responded that she could have whomever she liked call me. About 15 minutes later the same woman called back. She said to me her manager had waived the additional $800 charge if I would pay half on arrival and half next month. Just like that. So their disgusting and inflated penalty fee was purely arbitrary and unnecessary, a figment of their own predatory business model, and only imposed upon people foolish enough to accept it and pay it without objection. “That’s nice,” I replied, “except now I don’t trust you and I don’t believe what you say. You just tried to steal from me. Should I just accept your pricing for this service now? How do I know you won't arbitrarily inflate your fee yet further, during or after the procedure? You conduct business like criminals. So no, I don’t trust you or the company you work for. Cancel the appointment. I won’t do business with people who behave like you do. Ever.” I then immediately contacted the cardiologist’s office and informed them of this encounter, and the lady to whom I was speaking audibly gasped when I told her about the additional $800 charge for anyone who wanted to make partial payments to GRMC. There isn’t anything standard about this unconscionable business practice. This is obscene and grotesque – and it makes no difference that GRMC so easily waived the fee after some stiff pushback. When I explained the situation to the lady from the cardiologist’s office, I told her to make SURE that the doctor himself was made aware of this behavior from the medical group to whom he was sending his patients. Because I very much doubt that he had any idea. And GRMC? Save your apologies. I’m not interested and I wouldn’t believe you anyway. This is the way you conduct business with people without insurance. Your business practices are predatory and vile. You’re trying to STEAL from those who can least afford it. And you’re doing it to those who come to your facility because they have to. So now I’ll make it my mission to let everyone know about this – as many as I can, and I’m resourceful and creative – and hopefully your already questionable reputation takes the appropriate hit. You deserve it. I’ll be posting this on Instagram and Facebook as well. And I’ll be asking folks I know with large social media accounts on all platforms to drive traffic to this and the other posts. I’ll be posting a review on Yelp and anywhere else I think might have the impact I’m looking for. The more people I can make aware of your detestable ways, the better. Good morning from Noah’s Ark in Eastern Turkey! A few updates: Radar Scans have found 3 layers beneath the surface of the formation, within those layers, there are chambers, corridors, organized patterns and tunnels consisting of perfect right angles. (Genesis says that God told Noah to build the Ark with 3 floors). Scientists confirm the formation is 💯 NOT geological. They say, and I quote, that it is a “man-made object” (one agnostic scientist said he thinks it could even be a space ship? lol) No bedrock has been detected by even the most advanced scans (the same kind the U.S. Military uses to detect 50 meters from the surface. Biggest arguments by skeptics (who have never even been to the site) all claim the formation is bedrock, which we can confirm without a doubt that it is not. The Top (and most exposed) tier is decaying and the hardened mudflow encasing the rims of the boat are basically the only thing holding it together. It’s very fragile (as to be expected with 4,300 year old wood). It was also custom for Silk Road travelers to detour to the Durupinar Formation so that they could take pieces of the exposed wood and pitch to make good luck charms, so some of the top tier is missing entirely. But beneath the surface the bottom two layers appear to still be in tact, and we believe we have hit a floor of petrified wood (to be confirmed). More to come! Please consider supporting Noah’s Ark Scans and their work as they try to raise funds for core drilling and further additional lab testing and soil analysis. Even $25 covers a scientist’s meals for the day. Be a part of history! (Link in first comment below) 👇

At the moment Jesus died, three of the four Gospels stop describing Golgotha and cut, without warning, to a scene half a mile away, inside the temple. Matthew, Mark, and Luke each record it with almost the same words: the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. No one on the hill could have seen it. It happened behind walls, in a place only priests could enter. And yet the Gospel writers considered it so important that they interrupt the death of the Son of God to tell you about a piece of fabric. To understand why, you have to understand the veil. God's instructions for it go back to Exodus: a curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it, hung to divide the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place, the Holy of Holies, the room where the presence of God dwelt above the ark. The cherubim were not decoration. The last time cherubim stood as a barrier in Scripture was at the gate of Eden, with a flaming sword, after Adam and Eve were driven out. The veil was Eden's gate, rebuilt in cloth. It said one thing: you cannot come in here. By Jesus' day, the temple was Herod's vast rebuilt structure, and the curtain matched its scale. Josephus, the first-century Jewish historian, describes the temple's great veil as a Babylonian tapestry of blue, scarlet, purple, and linen, embroidered with a panorama of the heavens, an enormous hanging some sixty feet high. Later rabbinic tradition, recorded in the Mishnah, claims the veil was a handbreadth thick, woven from seventy-two cords each of twenty-four strands, and that it took three hundred priests to immerse it when it needed cleaning. Those numbers are probably rabbinic exaggeration, and it is honest to say so. But even discounting them, we are describing something the size of a building's wall, thick, heavy, and woven by expert hands. It was not a bedsheet. No man could tear it. And Mark is precise: it tore from top to bottom. From the top, sixty feet up, where no hand could reach, downward. Whatever tore the veil did so from God's side of it. Now consider who was allowed past that curtain. One man. Once a year. On the Day of Atonement, the high priest, and only the high priest, passed through the veil into the Holy of Holies carrying the blood of a sacrifice, to sprinkle it before God for the sins of the nation. Every other day of the year, every other person alive, was kept out on pain of death. The high priest of the year AD 30 was Caiaphas, the man whose bones now lie in a museum drawer. That was the whole system: one mediator, one day, one room, and a curtain that stood every other hour of every other day announcing that God was here and you were not permitted to approach. Then, at three in the afternoon on a Friday outside the city, Jesus cried out, "It is finished," and breathed His last. And in the temple, in the middle of the afternoon sacrifice, with priests at their duties, the barrier ripped open from the top down, and the Holy of Holies stood exposed to anyone standing in the Holy Place. For the first time since Sinai, a human being could look straight into the place where God dwelt, and nothing stood in the way. The letter to the Hebrews, written to Jewish Christians who knew the temple intimately, explains what the Gospels only show. It calls the old system a shadow and says the high priest entering once a year with the blood of animals was pointing forward to something. Then it says this: "We have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh." Read that slowly. The curtain is His flesh. When His body was torn on the cross, the veil was torn in the temple, because they were the same barrier being removed by the same death. The high priest brought blood into the Holy of Holies once a year, and had to come back next year. Jesus, Hebrews says, entered once for all, with His own blood, and then did something no high priest ever did: He sat down. There was no more work to do. There is a strange witness to that afternoon from an unexpected source. The Talmud, the vast collection of rabbinic writings compiled centuries later, records that "forty years before the destruction of the temple" a series of ominous things began happening in the sanctuary: the lot for the LORD on the Day of Atonement stopped coming up in the priest's right hand, the crimson thread that was supposed to turn white as a sign of forgiveness stopped turning white, the westernmost lamp of the menorah kept going out, and the great temple doors began opening on their own at night, so that a leading rabbi rebuked them, warning that they were foretelling the temple's destruction. The temple was destroyed in AD 70. Forty years before is the year 30, the year of the crucifixion. This is a rabbinic source, not a Christian one, written by men who did not believe in Jesus and drew no connection to Him. It should be handled carefully, since the Talmud was written down long after the events. But according to Judaism's own memory, from that year onward, the signs of atonement in the temple stopped working, and no one could say why. The torn veil pointed two directions at once. It announced that the way to God was open. It also announced that the temple's purpose was finished. Within a generation, in AD 70, Roman legions burned the building to the ground, exactly as Jesus had wept and warned it would be, and not one stone was left on another. There has been no veil, no Holy of Holies, no Day of Atonement sacrifice since. The system that ended on that Friday afternoon was dismantled by history forty years later, and it has never returned. What replaced it is a man, seated at the right hand of God, and a door that does not close. People think that the cross is where a good teacher was killed by his enemies. But at the instant of His death, the one room on earth that God had walled off from humanity was flung open from the inside. Nobody stormed the temple. Nobody broke down the door. God tore the curtain Himself, and He tore it downward, toward us. This is what it means for you. There is no longer a room you cannot enter and no priest you must go through. The curtain that separated you from God did not wear thin over time; it was ripped in half by His own hand, at the cost of His own Son's body. Hebrews draws the conclusion for you: "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace." Not creep near. Not earn your way near. Draw near, with confidence, because the way is open and it is never going to close again. The veil is torn. Walk in. Jesus is the great High Priest who opened the way, once for all. Thank You, Jesus.

As someone who did shrooms extensively and heavily for months (weekly basis) (as a Christian) (don’t touch them anymore). I can tell you I hardly miss it. The mental clarity/revelation/insights i achieved on them I’ve been able to rediscover by meditation and deep reading pondering the Bible. When we try to use our little brains to try and understand the sheer scale of God’s love and the incredibly complex interconnecting story he’s written for us. It makes everything else feel so insignificant. Shrooms allow you to see beyond the veil in a “real sense” but the closer you get in a relationship with God you also get to see beyond the veil and not only see, but live beyond it. When our spirits are reborn in Christ we unlock a whole new layer to the game that is life

Everyone needs to read Chapter 1 of Ratzinger’s “Introduction to Christianity” RIGHT NOW
My main theory as to why Christianity isn’t popular with younger people isn’t the usual answer of it not being trad enough. I think the issue is that many Christians live in a fantasy world. Like for many people it’s hard to fully reconcile modern life with it.

"Forgiveness comes quick now." Absolutely true. How are WE supposed to forgive people we don't believe God will forgive? The tradition of eternal punishment makes us more morally virtuous than God - which is absolutely impossible and yet another proof the tradition is a lie.

sim theory is just the newest skin of religion meta-narrative all religions espouse that there is something larger and deeper to life than the physical/present 3D material world. if you believe in any flavor of God then you by default believe there is a higher tier of reality/being and what we live in is a lower tier. that's all a simulation is, a lower fidelity imitation or replication of something more real

Have you noticed that at the exact same time AI image/video gen became convincing, reality also began generating real people who look 100% AI generated There are now ~10X more people walking around, posting videos, etc, who look like they were generated by a specific character prompt than there were 5 -10 years ago There's no chance in hell that someone who looks, talks and moves like "Leopold Aschenbrenner" could plausibly have existed at any prior time in history Reality is a giant probability machine It's not a fixed video game map where objects are introduced and change absolutely nothing around them. Every new structure that is introduced greatly changes the probability of new adjacent structures becoming real For instance, human technology actively changes the range of biological and psychological lifeforms that can exist successfully in relationship with it In the industrial revolution, factories created factory shaped human bodies and skulls. Farms created farm shaped humans. Bureaucracies created bureaucratic human forms. The internet created autism, neurodivergence, e-girls, streamers. San Francisco quite literally spawned a brand new machievellian-homosexual subspecies optimized purely for raising money, backstabbing others and saving time that would otherwise be spent on women for maximum modafinil-fueled productivity All of this can be understood through incentives. Technology changes incentives. Incentives change behavior. And a high enough dose of behavior changes appearance rapidly This is why anyone socially astute can immediately recognize how someone lives through only one look at their face, hearing one sentence of their voice, or watching them move for one minute A "face" isn't just inherited anatomy from some distant unknowable chain. It's an inherited possibility range of expressions, determined directly by the impact of every action, every thought, every emotion and moment of fear, every status calculation, every sin, and more widely, the sum total of your life as a human being Everything you do determines which version of the face and body get rehearsed every day, and therefore which version is brought into reality and cements as the final "you" . A face is the cumulative result of your behavior. It's a zip file, a compression of your entire history that everyone can see Every incentive you act on becomes your face This is how technology can rapidly change what humans look like, within 5-10 years, without changing a single underlying gene. Tech changes the thoughts, words and actions that receive money, power and attention. This changes what people say and do. And what people say and do rapidly determines what they look like Once there is an incentive for a new role created by the latest tech, people who tend towards it are rewarded, and people who depart from it are penalized. Tech therefore actively edits the appearance of the population in real time by constructing environmental niches where they can survive/thrive, allowing them to safely reached the ultimate form to perform the specific incentivized identity/role In this sense, emerging tech also grows a vast legion of human faces and bodies long before it has arrived at its final machine body. This is also why everyone is starting to look so AI generated. An LLM can answer its prompt in seconds. A human nervous system answers its prompt over many years and living is the inference. But they're both produced by a set of constraints (or incentives) under which a result crystallizes into form Tech and AI didn't suddenly produce humans that look AI generated. Instead, it revealed that civilization was always a prompt for every human body and face. And as the incentives became stranger, so too have the results
Leopold explains his approach to not blowing up (2024) "Obviously, not blowing up is task number one and two or whatever. I think this investment firm is going to just be betting on AGI and superintelligence before the decade is out, making the bets you would make if you took that seriously." "I think if that's wrong, the firm is not going to do that well." "The thing you have to be able to resist is, you know, one or a couple or a few individual calls. It's like AI stagnates for a year because of the data wall, or you got the call wrong on when revenue would go up." "You have to get timing right. I do think in general that the sequence of bets on the way to AGI is actually pretty critical, and something people underrate."

Because this seems to still be a relatively common attack on the God of the OT, AKA Yahweh (same as NT) which I cannot seem to avoid on this lame algorhythm, I wanted to address the usage of God claiming to be a "jealous" God, who asks us to "fear" and Him. For me, this also doubles as a healthy distraction from my more bombastic posts as of late. When we read that God calls Himself “a jealous God,” we instinctively overlay modern connotations of pettiness, insecurity, or fragile ego onto the statement. That’s not what the Bible means, it wasn't written in modern day English fools. God’s jealousy is protective and covenantal, the same reason He commands His people both to fear Him and to give Him exclusive worship. An important factor to keep in mind here is that humans become like what they worship/idolize. this isn’t about God needing an emotional “high” from our praise (or loosh if ur gay). It’s about how He designed us. Worship is not neutral, it’s formative. whatever (or whoever) we give our ultimate attention, affection, and allegiance to will inevitably shape our character, values, desires, and destiny. God knows this better than anyone because He made us. so when He warns against worshiping other “gods,” He is not being territorial in a petty sense, He is warning us against becoming like the things we worship. the Bible is clear that behind the idols and false gods of the nations are lame ass demonic powers, fallen spiritual beings who chose rebellion and evil. These entities are not morally neutral, there’s no such thing. They are actively opposed to God and His righteous goals. To worship or give serious allegiance to them is to open yourself to their influence and trajectory. That is why God is jealous: not because He is insecure, but because He knows what following those powers will do to you. this same logic explains the Biblical tension around fear. Scripture repeatedly tells God’s people, “Do not be afraid” when facing earthly threats, persecution, loss, or evil. Those commands make perfect sense once you understand your identity in Christ: your real life is hidden with Christ in God, and this world is not your home. At best it's a time share, and we all know those are scams. Nothing on earth has the final word over you. so fear of circumstances, people, or outcomes is ultimately misplaced and unproductive. It doesn’t protect you or improve your situation, it only distorts your perspective. Yet the same Bible commands us to fear God. These are not contradictory. The fear God asks for is qualitatively different from the fear of created things. When you are genuinely afraid of something, several things happen automatically: you take it seriously, you become urgent and attentive, you are less likely to treat it casually or assume it won’t affect you, your mind and will orient itself around that reality. God wants us to treat Him, our relationship with Him, and our eternal salvation, with that same level of seriousness to stomp out any naturally developing complacency or apathetic behavior. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10) is being incredibly direct here. It is a statement about how the human heart actually works. Until a person has a healthy reverence for God’s holiness, power, justice, and authority, they tend to treat spiritual reality lightly. That casual posture is dangerous when the stakes are eternal. Jesus Himself made the distinction in Matthew 10:28: “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” This is not a call to live in constant terror. It is a call to get our fears ordered correctly. The fear of God is meant to displace all lesser fears. As we grow in relationship with Him, this initial fear matures, getting increasingly mingled with love, trust, and awe. John details this exact progression in 1 John 4:18: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.” We are not capable of perfect love in this life, but as we progress towards it, it naturally depletes our fear. Paul adds to this concept when he tells believers to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). The phrase doesn’t mean we earn our salvation through anxiety. It means we should never treat the reality of God, sin, grace, and judgment as trivial and lacking urgency. It’s one of the biggest reasons outside of vast evidence that i shat on reincarnation theology. It strips the believer of all urgency since you have infinite attempts to pass the test, why rush? A total inversion, but appealing to the apathetic masses. God’s jealousy and His call to fear Him both flow from the same protective Fatherly concern: He knows what will ultimately shape us for good or for ruin. He is not asking for worship or fear to feed His ego. He is calling us to orient our lives around the only path which is actually good for us.
