Speaking directly to Lavrov at a meeting of G20 foreign ministers in the US today, Miliband said:
"Let me say this directly to the Russian Foreign Minister: we all know who the aggressor in this war is. Let's talk about what happened at Dnipro railway yesterday. Only yesterday your drones attacked and killed 15 people. And there are countless examples like this of you killing innocent civilians throughout this war. We all know you are the aggressor. We all know you started this war four and a half years ago with the full scale invasion of Ukraine. "
"And Putin thought then he would win this war easily. But you are are not winning this war. Thanks to the courage of the Ukrainian people and the solidarity of countries round this table, you are not winning. You know, I've been racking my brain trying to remember when else in history a great military power launched a war of aggression against a neighboring country, failed to defeat it on the battlefield for years -- and then the leadership of another great power (which the aggressor had regarded as its archenemy until just yesterday!!) engaged in petty, sordid collusion with the aggressor, made a complete 180-degree turn, and began actively working to force its undefeated victim into capitulation and extinction as a nation.
I'm honestly trying to think of historical precedents -- but it seems that never before in the history of this world under the heavens has there been such a spectacular display of deranged idiocy.

Belarus will place Russian missiles in its territory creating a much shorter flight time to hit Ukraine and also increasing the ballistic missile threat far into NATO airspace raising tensions.

Russian strikes on Ukraine today are truly horrific. A train station in Dnipro, downtown Chernihiv. A father crying over the body of his child. Children screaming for a dad who is now gone.
And no reaction from the US, which is the most involved in making a "peace deal." Nothing from Trump at all.
It creates such a scary, dangerous reality, one where russian oil refineries are protected, but Ukrainian children simply walking the streets of their cities are treated as fair targets. One where the aggression is supported and rewarded and the resistance is judged.
I’m horrified by the world I find myself in. This is not how you make peace deals, this is how you betray your allies and throw them to the wolves.
