In the 1980s, China partnered with American defense firms to produce a variant of the American M48 tank with added Chinese FY-2 armor amid other unspecified upgrades. However, by 1989 all work ceased.

Between March and September 2025, a North-Korean M1974 Tok'chon appeared at the Cuban Armored Division 1011's base in Managua, La Habana. It is stood next to an M48 Patton once donated to Castro by Vietnam. I'm curious how and when this artillery piece ended up in Cuba

Rare North Korean hovercraft seen during training exercises, 2012. I believe this is the indigenous Kong bang class landing vessel.

MT-LBu with some sort of modern auto cannon turret mounted on it, seen at a training ground/tourist attraction. I’m pretty sure it is just a mock up turret though.

🇰🇵 Korean People's Army Air Force Senior Captain's Service Uniform (Late 2000s) Original stamped uniform set for a Senior Captain of the Korean People's Army Air Force, dated around the late 2000s to pre-2012. Along with an original Kim Il Sung portrait badge with a western suit facing forward and a three row ribbon bar, there is also a set of original 1st class combat pilot wings and a Kim Chaek Air Force University graduation badge. The peaked cap uses the two-piece Soviet-style pre-2012 insignia setup.

On January 3rd 1951, North Korean army units destroyed or captured 14 Cromwell tanks from retreating British Forces. One or more of those tanks were pressed in to North Korean service, as seen here. Likely all did not survive the war.

No, this is far from a NATO vessel. It seems at some point in the 1990s North Korea got access to a 76mm OTO Melara naval gun and subsequently copied it. Mounted only on rarely seen Nongo class patrol/attack vessels, along with an AK-630, Manpads of some kind, and ASHMs.

I suspect this aircraft was a modified Yak-18 built to portray an Il-10 in a war film. After all, these screenshots are from a North Korean war movie.
Probably one of the most obscure military aircraft produced, North Korea designed and built a Il-10 style ground attack aircraft during the 1970s. The plane was removed from service by the 1980s, as being a WW2 era prop plane it was very outdated. Armed with 2x 23mm, 1x12.7+bombs

TSHRK "Shturm" during today military show in Chelyabinsk. Details xitter.cf/AndreiBtvt/status/1949…
A new assault tank from UVZ, the TSHRK "Shturm," has been revealed. The Heavy Robotic Assault Complex TSHRK "Shturm" includes remotely controlled tanks (with the option for crew operation) and control vehicles based on the T-72 (T-90) chassis. It features a shortened 125 mm gun barrel (a 152 mm variant is in development) for urban combat conditions, a bulldozer blade, and all-aspect protection against cumulative anti-tank weapons. The turret is also equipped with launchers for rocket flamethrowers or other weaponry. Details - btvtinfo.blogspot.com/2025/0…
