Question for media, reporters, journalists, TV anchors: When Danielle Smith actually claims that students, children, are being groomed and transitioned during their class day…why are you not responding with facts? Why are you letting her spew these conspiracy theories?

IT"S OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL! With 100% of the votes counted, 3 things are pretty clear! #1 - The overwhleming majority of Albertans are proud Canadians! #2 - Albertans are a lot less Xenophobic than Smith banked on #3 - Albertans know Smith needs federal oversight. #abpoli

In the noise of the referendum I still feel Smith did Corb Lund dirty by not adding the water not coal petion (numbers met the threshold). It just shows the UCP gives zero fucks about Albertans, only their own agenda.

Smith insisting the law forced her to put this separation q on the ballot. No. The law required govt to consider the proposed question. And Smith lowered the signature threshold to 177k from 600k. The secessionist option garnered 496,890 votes w 94% of polls reporting.

The separatists option got fewer votes than the number of signatures that would have been required to get the question on the ballot had Danielle Smith not changed the law to lower the threshold. In other words, Smith is to blame for putting us through this despicable exercise.

It’s important to note that Smith could have kicked the separatists out of her party at any point over the past three years. The fact that she’s only doing it now — when they’re organizing to oust her — shows that’s she’s more concerned about herself than the province.

I know I write about the royals, but this from Aberfan today just broke me. It’s from Diane Thomas, 78, a rescuer from the Red Cross who was only 18 at the time of the disaster, and spoke to Prince William. She said: ‘The chapel had been converted into a mortuary so I spent three nights in the mortuary, bathing the children, to try and get slurry off their little faces so their parents could recognise them. ‘I took the anorak off one little boy, put my hand in his pocket and came out [with a note that] he’d had eight out of 10 for spelling. I’ve been trying all these years to think about how I can trace his mum. I can’t but I want to tell her because I was the last person to hold him and bathe him.’ This is why today is so important.

I couldn't talk about the referendum because I got hired to supervise our local poll and then count. After working 17 hours Monday what I can say is many Albertans worked extremely hard for long hours without enough resources, and the fact we got it done is incredible in itself.

A special thank you to the First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who showed up in record numbers to help save Canada! We are all so deeply grateful for Indigenous communities and the extraordinary contributions they bring to our province and country.

Together we saved Canada! But there is another threat brewing, and again it's coming from within the UCP. Danielle Smith wants to gerrymander our riding maps because she's terrified she will lose. She wants politicians to pick their voters. No way, premier. In Alberta, voters pick their politicians.

Ahh…the questions. What was that that @ABDanielleSmith so eloquently explained to @CorbLund? “We like to frame our questions to get the result we want.” Yes, Alberta. Danielle Smith said the quiet part out loud.

I’ll bet there’s a lot of crazy shit you could get 23% of Albertans to agree with, but that doesn’t mean each stupid question needs a $138-million referendum at taxpayer expense. This waste of taxpayer dollars, energy, time and resources is unforgivable. #abvotes #abpoli #cdnpoli

Let's talk about Catherine, because the Arab world is and we might as well join them. Morning. Pouring rain. Green coat for Oman's flag. Diana's diamond feathers on it, the brooch only the wife of the Prince of Wales may wear. Then the curtsy to the Sultan, all the way down, all the way up, smile intact, that has been doing the rounds from Muscat to Riyadh ever since. Evening. St George's Hall. Butter yellow. A caped gown by Elie Saab, which is to say a Lebanese couturier, an Arab house chosen for an Arab guest, and nobody had to explain that to anybody at the table. The Lover's Knot on her head, Diana's again. The Royal Victorian Order across her. The King's Family Order at her shoulder. Half the internet said Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The other half just stopped scrolling. Two years ago she was on a bench in a garden telling us she had cancer. Tonight she was the most looked-at woman in the Gulf, and she got there without a single word about herself all day. Curtsied in the wet, changed, walked into the hall on her husband's arm, sat with a Sultan, went home. That's diplomacy you can't buy and can't teach. A green coat in the rain, a yellow gown at dinner, a Lebanese designer, Diana's jewels, and manners that read the same in every language. The future Queen, saying welcome twice in one day, perfectly, without raising her voice. Just wow.

Now, I can’t decide whether I like the last week’s tearful Danielle Smith that coddled separatists and MAGA, or today’s Danielle who appears to have bought a federal Liberal membership and became Captain Canada. Would the real Danielle please stand up! cpac.ca/headline-politics/ep…

Remember Albertans, the hundreds of millions of dollars we are wasting today on a referendum guaranteed to lose is because while separatism and racism are minority views in Alberta they are majority views in the UCP. We are spending your money to protect Danielle Smith.
