This is such a balanced and wise article from @MABennett82 for helping us think about missions strategy.
“In today’s globalized, urbanizing, digitally-connected world, locating the frontiers of missions proves more difficult to determine than one might think.” In a new feature article, Matt Bennett helps Christians think carefully about the current frontiers in world missions. desiringgod.org/articles/whe…

“God’s heartbeat for the nations that we see in the Great Commission is not something that we can pick or not pick among a smorgasbord of good things to do in a church,” @JTodd of @IMB_SBC said. “It’s an imperative.” @SWBTS swbts.edu/news/students-inte…

Upon conversion, Saul “immediately” proclaimed in the synagogues not the crucifixion or the Resurrection of Jesus, but the doctrine he formerly found most blasphemous: “He is the Son of God.” That should temper our cleverness in contextualization. Acts 9:20

Susan and Tia bringing lots of wisdom and experience to how hospitality serves as a bridge to the gospel in missions
Drawing from their years of ministry in Central Asia, Susan and Tia explore how Christian hospitality can point people to Christ, strengthen the local church, and help believers share the cost and privilege of following Jesus. Listen here: buzzsprout.com/2614719/episo…

“There is plenty that's worth debating sure. But can't we at least begin with an acknowledgement that there's godly, faithful, biblically minded, Christ-honouring people who have thought carefully and legitimately reached different conclusions.” Totally agree with this.
“Frankly, when I hear the word ‘movement’ then I begin to question whether I’m engaging a serious man.” I’m increasingly concerned by the tone of some conservative missiological responses to CPM/DMM. Rhetoric like this is needlessly heated and genuinely unjust. There is plenty that's worth debating sure. But can't we t least begin with an acknowledgement that there's godly, faithful, biblically minded, Christ-honouring people who have thought carefully and legitimately reached different conclusions. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Excited to start season 2 with a beautiful story of God’s grace amid tragedy and what God is doing in the heart of Rome. Check us out!
In this episode, Reid Karr talks about church planting in Rome, just outside the walls of the Vatican. We discuss evangelism in a Roman Catholic context, the challenges of church planting, and the role of the local church in gospel ministry. Listen here: buzzsprout.com/2614719/episo…

In pioneer missions, some non‑sinful irregularity may be unavoidable for a season—but irregularity should never become a church‑planting strategy.

Example 2: Because elders belong to a church’s well-being and not to its being and because training up elders in pioneering contexts takes time we could be spending helping to multiply, does not mean elder-less churches are fine to remain that way.

The context of the early church was no less pioneering and the apostles gave careful attention to the health of the churches not in spite of that fact, but because of it.

When you think of Europe, do you think of missions? Only about 1% of the people living in Europe are evangelical Christians. Each red dot represents 50,000 people who still need the hope of Christ. 📍 Pause on one red dot today. Pray for the people it represents.

A missionary’s longing to see people conformed to Christ mirrors a mother’s anguish. Let’s beware settling for superficial or transactional relationships. “my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!” Gal 4:19

This is why this kind of Christian Nationalism has no place in the Southern Baptist Convention. It's not just about contradicting Article VII of the BF&M; it's about contradicting the core purpose of the Convention.
