💎What you eat matters more than you think. ✅Fiber & whole grains ↓ CRC risk 🥩Red & processed meat ↑ CRC risk 😋Not about “superfoods” — it’s about patterns. 🍽️Prevention starts on your plate. #GITwitter #ColorectalCancer #Prevention

During #CRCAwarenessMonth it's critical to think about how we approach our IBD patients! Looking back on a great Q+A with @DrSamirAShah1 with a focus on: ⭐️Differences in screening ⭐️Approaching the conversation ⭐️High risk features ⭐️Surveillance intervals #EBGIvsCRC #IBD
1/ As part of Week 3 of our #CRCAwarenessMonth campaign, we present our second of two ”Q&A with an Expert” sessions on non-modifiable CRC risk! ⭐️Risk of CRC in Patients with IBD⭐️ with the one and only @DrSamirAShah1 ( & moderator @HannahWFiske ) 🧠 Scroll to learn more 👇🏽

☹️ColonCA risk ⬆️in IBD > 7 yrs duration 😊⬇️ ColonCA in recent yrs thanks to effective therapies that control 🔥AND regular (every 1-3yrs) colonoscopy surveillance. ☹️⬆️⬆️ ColonCA risk in IBD+PSC, Colonoscopy every1yr starts at diagnosis ⚠️Cologard is NOT good CAscreening in IBD

Having IBD doesn’t exempt you from colon cancer screening, because persistent inflammation can increase cancer risk. The good news: with good disease control and regular surveillance, we can detect changes early and prevent cancer.
