.@AbdulElSayed wants a 57% tax rate on Michigan small businesses and the self-employed. He said he would eliminate the payroll-tax cap. That is a top combined rate of 57.45%. Contractors, pass-throughs, and the self-employed pay this on the owner's return. He also wants a death tax starting at $1 million.

How do we give more kids a stake in the American economy? @MattLira explains to @GroverNorquist why America’s vibrant free-market economy still needs more on-ramps for kids to learn how to invest, save, and get started. That’s the idea behind Trump Accounts.

Listen to @SecretaryBurgum: An export ban would hurt Americans. U.S. refiners make ~5.3M barrels a day. Americans use ~3.6M. If we ban exports, refiners won't stockpile the surplus, they’ll just cut production. Lower supply means higher prices. atr.org/burgum-is-right-dies…

Seeing a lot of disingenuous takes on Justice Barrett’s testimony. It is past time for the public to understand the dangers the justices face. Most of this began with Dobbs in 2022, with attempts to intimidate/scare the conservative justices into preserving Roe. Despite that pandemonium (I was there, I saw it outside her home) Justice Barrett voted to overturn Roe.
NEW: Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett details the chilling threats her family has faced, revealing the terrifying moment her 12-year-old son discovered a bulletproof vest in her bedroom during the fallout of the Dobbs leak. Barrett also recounted a recent "swatting" incident at her home and receiving threatening anonymous deliveries, warning that while federal judges continue to do their jobs without fear or favor, the current threat level is "really high." "I didn't expect that performing this service was going to put me in the position of explaining to my children what a bulletproof vest was, and why I had to wear one."

Bernie Moreno is teaming up with Elizabeth Warren to scalp taxpayers. @berniemoreno threatens to impose a 56% tax rate on Ohio small and midsize businesses, the key employers in every town. This a more radical, costly tax hike than Bernie Sanders or Kamala Harris campaigned on.
We don’t agree on much, but @SenWarren and I agree on this: Social Security is a promise that must be fulfilled. By 2032, benefits could be cut by more than 20% if we do nothing. We have a bipartisan plan to save it: end the payroll tax cap so everyone pays the same. No benefit cuts. No raising the retirement age. nytimes.com/2026/06/23/opini…

Taxing Americans on inflation may be the most absurd policy in the tax code and ending it could be Republicans’ strongest affordability argument heading into the election.

We shouldn’t miss this opportunity to go big on budget reconciliation. If we want to do something bold before November, we ought to do it now, or we’ll miss it altogether.

This path to a not-terrible midterm now seems more plausible: - Some kind of successful resolution on Iran - Trump then goes to the Artemis splashdown - America 250 good vibes - Midterm convention - Actually force Dems to take bad votes on things like deporting criminals

My father and I came up with the idea for what @ESPN became on August 16, 1978 and went on the air just over a year later. It was made possible only with the help of many amazing people and more than a little bit of luck. One of those people was JB Doherty who became an investor, financial advisor, and much more. He brought us to Getty Oil and also provided the seed funding to keep us afloat for months until Getty invested. bit.ly/3QdUoEY A decade before we met him, JB was a war hero who won the Silver Star and Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. @ESPNPR @ESPNFrontRow
