Ah yes fine that man for drinking an invisible beverage while we take a commercial break for Bud Light, DraftKings, and Polymarket
NFL fined 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 for engaging in an offensive demonstration Sunday vs. Miami. “Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the NFL wrote in its fine letter. Juszczyk, nicknamed “Juice”, already has appealed the fine.

4/ What actually changed is the rulebook. In 1997, 92% of surveyed Division I athletic departments in high lightning states didn’t even have a formal written lightning policy. Then came standardized protocols, commercial lightning detection, and the 30-minute rule.

Hearing LSU fans cry about Ole Miss’ 6th year senior QB (which shouldn’t be allowed) like they wouldn’t have done the same thing. And didn’t try and get pro players lmao Also here’s a list of 5th year seniors on LSU Dottery Bordelon Tuihalamaka Wright Harris

Except for that one day in January 2023 when grieving NFL players cried publicly on national television, this is what you never see. This isn’t just a 2x occurrence, but a reality on high school & youth fields across America: those grieving after the collapse. #SaferSidelines
The Iowa band fought back tears as they performed in honor of their bandmate Derek Phillips, who died last weekend after collapsing from the heat at the Iowa football game. My heart breaks for him, his friends, and family. Powerful night. #Hawkeyes Video by @dpcoon1

After 16-year-old Arkansas football player Hunter Midkiff died at Piggott High in 2020, wet bulb globe went from guidelines to Arkansas code. That means they became rules, not suggestions. #SaferSidelines
Things are heating up in Arkansas high school sports medicine & we’re not talking about it being 95° there today. Resignation email by the athletic trainer about coaches allegedly ignoring medical decisions ⬇️ #SaferSidelines

The rules are scientifically sound. I am all for adjustment to the rules as long as we have science and data to support changes. A coach’s desire to do so doesn’t meet the cut. So I think we have a lot of work to do in the research side to make changes. Enforcement is key.

College football shenanigans are going to set in motion a convoluted series of lawsuits that finally end with Louisiana’s legal system being forced off of the Napoleonic Code and into British Common Law with the rest of the union
Breaking: The SEC sued LSU in U.S. District Court in Alabama on Thursday, alleging the university is violating the league's First Amendment right of expressive association by ignoring SEC rules that prohibit signing and playing former NFL players.

TLDR: If you steal a 3 dollar sandwich, you get arrested. But if you steal every bit of art, writing and music on earth, you get declared “too big to fail” and are allowed to write the laws now

NEW: LSU's Lane Kiffin said that conferences can’t pick and choose the court orders they want to follow after discussions of banning NFL players: "Doesn’t work like that. You can’t decide, ‘Hey, I like that injunction, I don’t like that one, that play I kind of like, and I like the way that they got him eligible, so we’re going to follow those rules, not these.'" The amount of serious discourse I seem to have kicked off the last couple days is pretty wild. Nobody is banning med student research. Come on people. Clearly compulsory med student research is a big problem though. Should it be illegal, resulting in jail time? No, 3 days on the vascular surgery service should suffice. Btw, the jail thing was a joke. I hate clarifying jokes, but I’m genuinely concerned about the well being of some of my biggest PhD haters.

The Navajo Nation has roughly 400,000 enrolled members and covers more land than West Virginia. Until this April, none of them had ever signed an NFL contract. The one who finally did played six snaps on Saturday night and got a standing ovation from fans wearing both teams' jerseys. Shiyazh Pete's first high school didn't have a football team. He transferred to Shiprock, New Mexico, joined the team as a sophomore, and mailed his own highlight tape to colleges during a COVID senior year with almost no recruiting resources on the reservation. The offers came back from Division II and Division III schools. He walked on at New Mexico State instead, redshirted, and spent his first year on the practice squad. Three seasons later he was a first-team All-Conference USA left tackle, playing with a cast on a dislocated thumb, protecting the quarterback in a 34-10 win at Auburn. Then Kentucky. Twelve starts in the SEC and a team captaincy. According to the NCAA, five Native Americans played Division I football in 2025. Pete was one of the five and the only one in the SEC. Draft analysts ranked him somewhere between the 36th and 54th best tackle in the class. Seven rounds went by. Nobody called. Dallas signed him as an undrafted free agent within days. The team's own rookie minicamp video of him was built around one line he said on camera. He had to earn that star. Saturday in Glendale, thousands of Navajo Nation members made the trip to a Cardinals preseason game to watch a backup tackle. The Navajo Nation president came. When Pete checked in during the fourth quarter, the Navajo section noticed before anyone else did. Six plays, one touchdown drive, and then a chant of his last name loud enough that his teammates cleared the bench so he could face it alone. His head coach handed him the locker room afterward. He told a room full of men he'd known for four months that fate brought them there as strangers, and this game, this star, this team would make them brothers. Every locker room speech ever given is about brotherhood. This one came from the guy who spent his whole career as the only one in the room.
I don’t know what the future holds for Shiyazh Pete as a member of the #Cowboys, but this may be the best preseason post-game speech of all time. (🎥: @dallascowboys)
