"By maintaining cordial relations with almost all sides in the conflict, India was able to evacuate its citizens safely, purchase discounted Russian crude, & continue development of Rupee-Ruble, all while not bearing any significant blowback from the West"
How India balanced all sides in the Russia-West conflict

I would hate to break it to Indian LeLis. Western and South American populists see Modi as a blueprint, not an adversary, let alone an ideological adversary.

It's going to cause American data centers which are centred in the Middle East (Dubai mostly) to have to be forced to rely on Mumbai and Bangalore servers. Iran is going to Indianize the internet even more.

Sharjeel Imam has shown once again that liberalism, secularism, constitutionalism and social justice etc exist in the subcontinent only within the Hindu polity. Outside it, they have no existence.

The karyakarta is kept on a steady drip of civilisation churan. Every municipal poll is the Third Battle of Panipat.
Meanwhile party bosses cut deals shamelessly with anyone who can help them stay one more second in power. No wonder every crook has been rehabilitated and every corruption case has been compromised.

Yes, prominent US-based political activists, influencers, and now even aspiring politicians in the GOP, who have openly normalised and legitimised “anti-Indian hate” and dehumanising language/labels, going beyond their own immigration grievances, is all due to Russian bots.

What exceptionally rich thinking and writing. Please read this interview of Sharjeel Imam on capitalism, faith, and perseverance.

I would rather have an authentic RW party with 180 seats than a soft-Ambedkarite party with 240 seats.

“Our goal is to help shape Indian geopolitical relationships and even foreign policy (esp with US and its partners) for India’s next 100 years”
Interesting formulation by a US citizen and megadonor to one US party, who often admonishes Indian govt for not following US diktats:
The Soviet Union too knew where to keep the useful idiots. They put them in Patrice Lumumba University. They did not touch the Moscow State Univ which produced 11 Nobel laureates, or their Academy of Sciences' institutes. We have screwed IITs by polluting them with humanities.
Whatever happened at IITB is proof that this country’s education sector is practically in the gutter
To save the right tail of the normal distribution, Ambedkarism must go

MBS is learning why mercantile states often lose wars. Carthage and Venice learned this the hard way.
ANALYSIS: The past 24 hours has seen truly extraordinary events take place in the Middle East between Saudi Arabia and Ansarallah (Houthis).
Riyadh, Jeddah, Abha, Al-Ula, Jazan, Yanbu, Khamis Mushait, Taif, and the Farasan Islands… all SMASHED by Ansarallah.
What’s that? The capital city of Riyadh? Yup. Blasted.
The second largest city in Jeddah? Boom.
The critical port of Yanbu? Bang.
What we’re seeing right now is a Saudi Arabia COMPLETELY defenseless against Ansarallah strikes. And while this is astonishing given Saudi’s military budget and equipment, it’s also remarkably DANGEROUS.
Right now, Mohammed bin Salman, MBS, is facing a REAL threat to his control over Saudi Arabia now. Particularly in the past week, the world has watched as Ansarallah took total control over the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a key chokepoint to the Red Sea. Then, we watched as Iraqi militias (reportedly) hit the Saudi East-West Pipeline that allowed KSA to move oil from the East side of the country to the West, avoiding the Strait of Hormuz threatened by Iran.
Now, we’re seeing Ansarallah strike EVERYTHING in Saudi Arabia at will… and MBS looks like a fool. An embarrassment. A LOSER.
All the money in the world can’t fix that now. Sure, he could potentially throw money at Ansarallah, lift the blockade of Yemen, and stop meddling, manipulating, and torturing the sovereign country of Yemen, but that won’t fix the ENORMOUS blow to his reputation that the last week has imposed.
No. In all likelihood, we are on the verge of a MAJOR Saudi escalation in Yemen.
But if recent weeks are any indication, it will only lead to greater devastation to Saudi Arabia and the global energy markets already on the precipice.
