New England boys in girls’ sports ⬇️
🧵1/6 Championship season for fall high school sports has begun. While boys on the west coast have been garnering quite a bit of attention, boys in New England have also been stealing medals and opportunities from female athletes.
Up in Maine, freshman boy Raphael "Violet" Wedick continues to take playing time from female athletes on the South Portland varsity team.
South Portland finished the season with a 10-2-2 record in the conference and a 14-3-3 record overall.
Their point differential was 55-11 for the season. Despite only being a freshman, Wedick has been a main scorer for the team.
They now move into the state championship tournament with a regional berth in the qualifiers this weekend.

Teenage girls are fighting back. Adults in sports leadership should be ashamed!
My dad and I filed a federal lawsuit this week, and I want to explain it in my own words.
Last September, my varsity team played a match without being told who we would be competing against, and our lawsuit says the adults in charge knew a day ahead of time and kept it from us and from our parents.
I believe girls deserve to know the truth before they step into the locker room, and not after.

Contrary to what has been claimed, allowing boys onto girls' teams does not provide a "safe" and "inclusive" environment for any athletes, let alone the boy himself.
What it does is create an environment of mistrust, resentment, and controversy and subjects all involved, the athletes, coaches, schools, and parents, to unwanted media attention and scrutiny. It creates a path of destruction wherever it is allowed.
All of these athletes could have been continuing on with their season without issue had the school simply said "no." The boys would have continued to participate in boys' races or on boys' teams while still being able to set individual goals and improve themselves and build friendships with their male teammates. Instead we get this.
Letting boys participate on girls' teams is not fair. It is not safe. It is not "inclusive." It is not right.
It is not only unbelievably unethical and dishonest, but just plain stupid.

There is no law in existence that requires boys to participate on girls' teams.
The only laws I'm aware of are those requiring individuals be allowed to participate on teams in line with their "gender identity."
But here's the thing, "gender identity" is a made-up concept. It doesn't exist. There is no way for a court of law to prove its existence, and athletic teams are not separated based on "gender identity."
They are separated based on sex, so it's not possible for a team to "align with a 'gender identity.'"
There are hundreds, if not thousands of potential "gender identities," so it is not even possible for a school to provide teams based on "gender identity"
Washington state's school sports league has addressed the sudden controversy over a male runner on the Camas girls' cross country team, suggesting the onus for the situation is on the state's political leadership, as state law requires males be allowed to compete with girls.
"The WIAA cannot implement a policy that is in violation of Washington state law," the association told me.
