I want to share something from my personal experience with TRT.
Before I ever started testosterone therapy, I spent years trying to fix how I felt.
And I mean years of trying everything I could think of.
I did detox protocols for things like parasites, heavy metals, and mold. I changed diets multiple times. Keto. Intermittent fasting. Keto and fasting together. I trained hard with weights. I did tons of cardio. I combined everything trying to “optimize” my health. I even did coffee enemas, yikes.
I went down every possible route I could find.
Chiropractic care thinking maybe it was structural, this got expensive. Neuromuscular massage and trigger point work thinking it was tightness and nerve issues. Acupuncture. Therapy for PTSD. Treatment for TBI. Antidepressants. Brain stimulation therapy. Iodine protocols. Switching salts. Genetic testing. Looking into methylation issues like B12, COMT, MAO-A, and trying to “correct” what I could find. I had a neck fusion, hoping it came from neck instability. I was in a constant state of dizziness and not feeling “fully in this reality.”
All my blood work always came back within “normal limits” so every doctor just said the same thing “it’s probably from the TBI you got from when you got blown up.”
I prayed constantly.
I genuinely tried everything I could under the sun.
And still, something wasn’t right. Always felt hope when I tried something new but was disappointed when it didn’t change anything.
The fatigue, brain fog, low motivation, and emotional weight were still there. There were nights I went to bed feeling like I wasn’t sure I’d make it through the next day, I literally prayed before bed thinking “well this is it.” A constant sense of heaviness and survival mode. At the time, it felt like I had already lived my best years and I was just pushing through what was left.
Eventually I reached a point where I basically said, “I have nothing left to lose. I’ll try TRT and see what happens.”
For me personally, that’s when things shifted.
It didn’t make life perfect, but it changed something fundamental, it resolved about 90% of my issues.
My mood improved. The constant low-grade depression lifted. The feeling of hopelessness started to fade. I started thinking about the future again. I started feeling motivated again. Strong again. Mentally clearer. Emotionally more stable. When that changed, it seemed my physical symptoms changed too. The dizziness subsided my aches and pains went away, and everything didn’t hurt all the time.
I stopped feeling like I was just surviving and started feeling like I was actually living again.
I can’t fully explain it any other way than that.
I honestly wish I had understood sooner that low testosterone could be a factor in everything I was trying to fix for so long. I spent close to a decade searching for answers and assuming my best years were behind me.
This isn’t medical advice and everyone is different, but I do think it’s important for people to get proper labs and not ignore persistent symptoms that don’t make sense.
Just sharing my experience in case, it helps someone connect dots in their own situation, I never knew hormones could play such a large role in EVERY area of my life like that.
Now, being on the other side of things, I want others to find their way, even if TRT isn’t the answer, living like that is not living at all and I want to see you get better.
Alot of people talk about controlling and slowing down the eccentric part of a lift. Definitely important.
But the concentric part of the movement probably needs love too.
Slow it down.
Day 5 - Parenting post
One of the challenges of raising good kids is that they tend to listen, respect authority, follow directions, and do what their parents ask of them.
But there’s another side to that.
You have to teach them that the same level of obedience, loyalty, and willingness to please doesn’t belong to everyone.
Think about when a friend asks them to do something they will regret. Or listening to a teacher that has their own agenda. Or a "stranger" in a position of authority.
It's a good thing to have your children listen and be obedient, but you also need to tell them when not to be.
Just know everything has a flip side when raising kids.
Day 4 - Parenting post.
Are you correcting your child’s behavior, or are you reacting to something in your child that reminds you of yourself?
Sometimes the things that bother us most about our children are the things we know all too well because we’ve done them ourselves, or maybe still do.
The next time your child makes you unusually angry or frustrated, take a second to ask yourself why. Is it really their behavior that’s bothering you, or are you seeing something in them that you haven’t quite dealt with in yourself?
It’s worth thinking about. Because sometimes the behavior we are trying so hard to correct in our children is the very thing we need to work on in ourselves.
Day 3 - Parenting posts
Protecting your children from every struggle can leave them unprepared for adulthood.
I know I’m guilty of this.
Having gone through things in my own life that I never want my kids to experience, I sometimes catch myself wanting to micromanage their choices, remove obstacles, and basically give them cheat codes to life.
The intentions are good, but I’m starting to realize that this isn’t always doing them any favors.
If I’m constantly stepping in to fix things, make decisions, or prevent them from making mistakes, when do they actually learn to navigate life on their own?
Sometimes being a protective parent means allowing your kids to struggle. Letting them make mistakes, deal with the consequences, and figure things out for themselves.
That’s easier said than done when everything in you wants to protect them.
But the goal isn’t to make their childhood completely free of struggle. It’s to raise adults who are capable of handling life’s struggles when we’re no longer there to step in and fix everything.
Parenting Misconception:
Boys need to be tough and strong.
Absolutely. They need to grow into men who lead, provide, protect, take responsibility, show patience, and stand firm when life gets difficult.
But there’s something we need to stop confusing with strength.
Never asking for help.
A lot of us grew up believing that being a man meant figuring everything out on our own. Keeping our emotions to ourselves. Keeping our problems to ourselves. Never letting anyone see us struggle. Usually this comes out in anger, addiction or volience if not dealt with.
And some of us are still carrying that into adulthood. It's all some of know as men...
We don’t ask for help when we’re overwhelmed. We don’t talk when we’re hurting. We wait until we’re at our breaking point before admitting something is wrong.
Then we wonder why it’s so hard to let people in and people sometimes avoid us because we seem angry all the time.
I don’t want my sons growing up believing they have to earn their worth by how much pain they can silently endure on their own.
I want them to be strong enough to stand on their own, but secure enough to reach for someone’s help when they need it.
Because being a man doesn’t mean you never need help.
And if we don’t teach our boys that, we might spend their entire adulthood watching them struggle with something we taught them to hide.
Body is saying it's time for a deload week. Not what I really want, but I have learned it's usually better to listen.
Does your child know the difference between making a mistake and being a disappointment?
One thing I constantly have to drive into my kids’ skulls is that making a mistake doesn’t mean they’ve disappointed me.
Their brains are still developing. They’re learning how to process emotions, consequences, and correction. Sometimes they hear me explaining where they went wrong and interpret it as having failed me or their mom.
I’ve learned that sometimes I need to spend more time explaining this concept than I do explaining the actual mistake.
I need them to understand that I’m correcting their behavior, not questioning their worth.
Life is going to be full of mistakes. You’ll make them over and over again. That’s part of learning and growing.
But feeling defeated because you believe you’ve become a disappointment to the people who love you shouldn’t be part of that equation.
I want my kids to learn from their mistakes without ever questioning whether they’re still loved because of them.
Preliminary psychological assessment:
Subject demonstrates a persistent pattern of opposing popular opinion, resisting conventional practices, and deliberately choosing the least popular option.
Possible diagnosis: Chronic Contrarianism with Antagonistic Tendencies.
Prognosis: Will probably disagree with this assessment. 😂
Or...since I said he would disagree he will fully embrace it and just lol
Either way. This has gone too far.

⚔️ "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17)
Barbarian's ethos is about fiercely lifting each other up. In the gym, at home, in life. All of it. We wanted a subtle way of saying it (without saying it) and it's also a small hat tip to the Ambassador Tee design.
The Iron Sharpens Iron tee is LIVE.
As a reminder, our first 20 orders from our Granite drop are getting one for free (order #'s 2927-2946). Sweat sets are in production and are only available through the 31st.

If my parents were the parents I wanted. I wouldn't be the man I am today.
That's kind of a hard truth.
A friend of mine saw my progress and asked for some help.
I sent him to a TRT clinic in April of this year. 160mg testosterone cypionate a week as well as HCG at 250iu 2x a week.
Then in June, he started reta. Maxed out at 3mg weekly.
After Pic is from yesterday.
Got his diet dialed in and the results are as pictured.
It really isn't hard with the tools we have today and just being consistent.
So I have an AI Playlist on my Spotify.
Sometimes the song that's on my Playlist changes and sounds different. Different voice sometimes and sometimes everything sounds different.
Not kidding, but it's like an Indian hacked it and changed the voice to a dude with an Indian accent. And it sounds terrible.
Anyone else experience this?
Smokeless firepits.
So, solo stove seems to be the go-to...
Wondering if there are company, less expensive brands with matching or better quality.

No more teasers. Q4 surprise 1 of 2 is below and comes with a pretty epic giveaway!
I've been strategizing on a mens fragrance for 6 months. I knew what I wanted but after some help exploring scents with @recon10th and wrapping up with @GreenHornTX, we didn't just nail one.
We nailed three.
In true Barbarian fashion, each brand for these was hand-lettered. Each of the 3 scents built entirely from scratch...for hours. Drop-by-drop. In-person. We didn't hire a lab to develop them; we did them ourselves with professional guidance to produce three unique fragrances for Barbarian. This is the next big jump for us.
We will acquire the fragrances in bulk (produced right here in north GA), bottle by hand, and print every single one in-house. No labels for these; our highly detailed artwork will be printed directly on every bottle!
I couldn't be happier with the outcome of these (thank you Fil & Ryan). We'll be getting small tester bottles filled and branded this week so we can get some of YOU to test them out and give us feedback.
🚨 GIVEAWAY DETAILS 🚨
1. Follow our page.
2. Like this post.
3. Repost or quote post.
We'll select 10 random winners to try out all 3 scents from our forthcoming fragrance line. Winners will be chosen on 11/1.

Barbarian is a lifestyle and mindset brand as much as it is a fitness brand. We'll continue to work hard and push boundaries to create high touch point products and back them with high touch point customer service. We hope you'll give our fragrances a chance and, don't worry ladies... we haven't forgotten about you with our Thyra line; just have to nail these first!
I hope you all like the theming, key art, naming, and branding I put together for these; it's been a ton of fun and I'm glad I don't have to keep this hidden anymore.
Looking forward to your feedback. Don't forget to follow the giveaway details above for your chance to be the first to sample these!

We get so caught up in optimizing that we sometimes forget to execute.
"Cardio has to be fasted." So if you can’t do it fasted, you skip it altogether.
You start sacrificing execution for perfection.
Don’t let optimizing become the reason you don’t execute it at all.
Speaking from my tendency to do this sometimes...
And it applies to more than just cardio.
