I mean in terms of how everything was geared towards maximizing Salah in 24-25. Of course he was always elite every season at Liverpool, but Liverpool’s squad in 24-25 was worse compared to 18-22 Liverpool yet we created more big chances in 24-25 than in those seasons.

This caught my eye in particular. The amount of big chances Liverpool created with a Salah-centric set-up was simply unparalleled, even more than prime Guardiola teams, and that’s with Liverpool essentially throwing away the final 4 games.
Ran some numbers! Really interesting stuff came out. Main takeaways: Iraola is performing exactly as predicted in terms of expectations vs Slot last season was largely underperforming both with 15 points. BCC not an elite forecaster of future points, GD and points is better. #LFC

Quick debunk: According to Opta, if a player gets the ball past an opponent but is then fouled in a way the ref does not call, after which the opponent retrieves the ball, it counts as a failed dribble Salah was an outlier in refs NOT calling fouls when he dribbled past players
25/26 - 26.4% dribble success rate. In the 7th percentile 24/25 - 44.6% dribbles success rate. In the 45th percentile 23/24 - 35.5% dribble success rate. In the 12th percentile 22/23 - 41.9% dribble success rate. In 26th percentile 21/22 - 42.7% dribble success rate. In the 19th percentile 20/21 - 42.9% dribble success rate. In the 10th percentile 19/20 - 60.2% dribble success rate. In the 62nd percentile 18/19 - 53% dribble success rate. In the 40th percentile 17/18 - 62.7% dribble success rate. Yeah that’s what I’m thinking as well. Anyone who consistently outperformed Kane in the PL get their reps indirectly boosted by this.

Yeah @MessDijkLah I have to agree with Z9, Kane was better in the PL that season and the conditions he played in were some of the worst for an elite level attacker so for him to do that was even more impressive. All comps I’d give it to Salah though since he was good in the UCL.

Well yeah we can point out that Salah consistently outperformed the Ballon d’Or winner when they were both in the same league, and that Kane could only win it by going to an easier league. It boosts Salah’s credibility and devalues the Ballon d’Or. That’s my logic anyways.

Salah nayshun, since Kane won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, do you think it will eventually help or hurt Salah’s legacy? πŸ€”
