Equal weight S&P now up over 5% since we bottom ticked it. Join us to learn something. @marketmoneyllc
Equal weight S&P has been negative for 6 weeks in a row. $RSP It is my belief that, that streak ends starting with today’s price action.

El Niño has certainly been an attention hog but the #PoalrVortex (PV) is doing its best to get some attention. First a PV stretch bringing cooler weather in the East US followed by an almost unprecedented "warming" in polar stratosphere first week of October & a Canadian warming.

PCE breakdown. Smaller annual increases in July is something people have noticed. Inflation did not improve in August, the BEA updated methodology and applied those revisions retrospectively this morning, resulting in both the annual headline and core changes being three tenths lower. Below, we can see despite the lower number today, inflation nudged higher in August, and more crucially, unlike CPI, where core is moving lower, the core PCE is still pushing upwards.

Everyone screaming about what the 10 year is doing, meanwhile, SOFR, even after the interest rate hike IS STILL below the Discount window rate/ Standing Repo Facility Rate (THE RED LINE) What does that mean: Free market of dollars is STILL relatively stable. Now, let's go to the REPO desk. (Second Picture) Ever since the war, you only had 3 instance where people were using the REPO facility. Oh! and one more thing, the third pircture, the 10s and 3Ms they are in a very deep bear steepener. Until SOFR screams for help, and the REPO facility loses their minds, and the steepener turns from a bear to a bull, I ain't worried about a single dime. 🤷‍♂️

wonder if this is when we get martial law like he also predicted anyway everyone panic and run for your life we're all gonna die, markets going down 25% - 40% from Nov to Jan 2027
25 to 40% decline. Cem Karsan @jam_croissant is putting timing and price on the record. The only thing holding it together right now is Bessent keeping the plates spinning for six more weeks. After the midterms, the incentive disappears.

Some commentary from @profplum99 about the long end. Bessent has a chance to execute the “Rothschild Trade” and I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

The Productivity Boom Is Real. The AI Payoff Isn’t… Yet. Productivity has been at the center of the AI narrative, with nonfarm output per hour showing a clear step-up from its pre-pandemic trend. If this were already a broad micro-level productivity story driven by AI, however, we would expect to see a commensurate acceleration in utilization-adjusted TFP, which more closely captures the technology and efficiency side of productivity growth. Since 2023, nonfarm productivity has accelerated 1.3pp, but utilization-adjusted TFP has yet to show a statistically significant shift. Instead, capital deepening stands out, adding +0.7pp. For now, the productivity boom looks more like the AI investment cycle than the AI payoff. Credit to @BobEUnlimited for being one of the earlier recognizers of this.
