With no limit on spending, due to previous and current gov't lack of oversight, all resources will go to that as it did with the North Bank redesign after tension crack issues. @BCRatePayers in a bad place as @bchydro cave$ in to poor project management and political pressure.

What is "Jurassic Jello"? This kind of unstable ground on which BC Hydro thinks it can safely build a dam on the Peace River at #SiteC: youtu.be/JAp4_DYchxs #bcpoli

Hard to say if this is identical to what's hundreds of feet down but engineers who know the area says this stuff goes extremely deep & as you can see in Bill's thread, the #SiteC spox says the dam is being built "on shales." This is what happens when politicians override experts.

Not hard to see why this originally $6 billion dollar dam is now $11 bn & climbing. Everything is more expensive because it's on this unstable ancient ash. Also, every time they dig through it it releases silica dust, & Worksafe BC has fined them $$$ for exposing workers. #SiteC

So your tweet is correct, tho #SiteC doesn't so much subsidize as greenwash LNG, & worse, most of that greenwashing is fake. BC govt makes noise about "electrifying" fracking but it's not industry-wide (& we had enough electricity to do it without Site C) nationalobserver.com/2019/09…
