Few truths that will hold for most of your life.
1.) No India is not the worst country for women, go to any station in Paris and see how they are catcalled. Rapes and sexual assault per capita are higher in western countries.
India's problem is eve teasing, which is reducing.
RW in India is the modern wing.
India is too modern a country to be ruled indefinitely by the right-wing. India, at the same time, is too traditional a country to be governed by a left that seeks to sweep that inheritance aside. This is the great paradox that India inhabits. Whether we like it or not, the truth is that we inhabit two worlds simultaneously, tradition and modernity. And neither can be wished away.
You cannot simply declare that traditions which have shaped this civilization for centuries must be consigned to the dustbin of history. Nor can you insist that society remain frozen in time. Traditions must evolve, adapt, and negotiate their place in a rapidly changing, modernizing world. Modernity, too, must find ways of engaging with the civilizational inheritance of the country.
This requires a political imagination capable of holding both worlds together, of reconciling continuity with change rather than choosing one at the expense of the other. That, fundamentally, is what the Idea of India as articulated by the Congress seeks to accommodate. And it is why the Congress remains uniquely placed to speak to India's extraordinary civilizational paradox. Only and only Congress.

My father attended this rally. Six blasts happened here. One person next to my father lost his leg. One blast occurred near Modi’s stage. Modi handled the whole situation very smartly. He didn’t panic or try to run away. It could have been the biggest stampede and could have caused thousands of deaths. Three lakh people were there. Six people died and 85 were injured. Modi returned to Bihar after a week and gave ₹5 lakhs to each of the six deceased families. All this happened under the watch of Nitish Kumar, who didn’t even give any compensation to the victims. Nitish won only two seats in 2014.
