Hear me out: Fire the All-Star Race into the sun and just make both Dover and Wilkesboro points races.
I loved that race as much as the next fan in its day, but it doesn’t work at any track or with any format in 2026.
Which tracks are likely moving into the Chase next year and which are moving out? Where will the All-Star Race go? What about San Diego and Chicago? And what is Rockingham's future?

Here’s the way I look at it…
I can find a dozen football, basketball, baseball and hockey games each week to enjoy during their season
But we only get one Cup race a week
I would prefer not to reduce the small amount of what we already get

I’ve gotta tell y’all, the championship format change has really helped me fall back in love with NASCAR this year.
I didn’t even realize how much of an impact it would make. But it feels like the series I obsessed over in my youth again from a storytelling perspective. Love it.
