This new Mamdani funding is being wildly misreported. The money is not only going to combat antisemitism but also going to lots of religious organizations broadly to combat discrimination. For instance, from a rundown of the funding:
* Arab American Association of NY: Arab American anti-hate workshops, self-defense training and civic programs for Arab, Muslim and Middle Eastern New Yorkers
* Hispanic Federation: anti-hate education and safety workshops in Latino and immigrant neighborhoods

* NYC Anti-Violence Project: anti-hate education and safety support for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers
* Asian American Federation: Asian American anti-hate outreach and reporting help in 15+ languages
