Justin is comparing apples to oranges. In 3 IC transactions, you can fetch a BTC block, hash it, compare that hash with headers collected from the IC’s BTC nodes, check the proof of work, process the block, and send a bunch of BTC tx. That will also count as zero ingress calls
ICP's reported TPS numbers are fake! ⚠️ They claim 6k+ TPS, but in reality, ICP only does 0.4 TPS. It is a ghost chain! By counting basic chain functions as TXs, they are fraudulently misleading the public Do not be fooled; there is real usage in crypto, but ICP is not it: 🧵 ICP's foundation, DFINITY, is again caught red-handed lying to the public. This time to a preposterous degree: The Lie: The 6k TPS figure comes from DFINITY's own official website. Here comes the kicker: 4k of that "TPS" are read-only queries! The remaining 2k "TPS" are application steps, something ALL other smart contract chains have, but no other blockchain actually counts as TPS. These include contract-to-contract calls, timers, replies & heartbeats. ICP's leadership counts all of these as "TPS" today The Truth: Once we subtract all of those phony forms of TPS, ICP ends up with a mere 0.4 TPS, or 0.7 TPS if we also counted every token ledger That means DFINITY is inflating the usage of ICP by a whopping factor of x16245 All while the biggest user of ICP today is DFINITY's own subnet where they host their apps! The ckBTC & ckETH minters, along with their ETH & SOL relays. Together, produce 31.5% of this fraudulent TPS count One Example: There was a particularly interesting incident in 2022 when a developer was loading a database into his app at less than one call a second DFINITY's own dashboard showed his subnet doing 1.3k Transaction Per Second, a third of the network's usage that week The developer then went on to the forum to ask how that was possible. The ICP engineer frankly explained it: "Each upload put 500 records into three indexes, and the code did each insert as a call from the program to itself. Every call counts, and every reply to a call counts again. So one upload became about 3,000 "transactions". Written as one batched call, the same work would have shown "500x fewer transactions". Following that up with one of the most damning statements in this case: "DFINITY's own benchmark had deliberately left such messages out, because counting them "might have been deemed as cheating (after all we care about user-triggered transactions rather than artificially generated traffic)". DFINITY's own dashboard counts them anyway & still does to this day. On this day, the 21st of October 2026, replies to calls between programs were 57 percent of the "update" count! This mechanism is also not rate-limited at all In conclusion, their own engineer said counting internal messages would be cheating in a benchmark; their own dashboard counts them to this day; that is the number they sell as TPS! Under ICP accounting, 1 TPS turns into 1.3k "TPS". Now that is a fraudulent & misleading design! Discrepencies That is how they can claim to do "6k TPS" while only bringing in less than 7k of fees per day, while its own "Internet Identity" ICP's login system registers a mere 3112 users in the last day Their physical presence in our ecosystem is also not at all congruent with their claim of being the second most used blockchain in the world Such inconsistencies are hard to reconcile. Which is why this expose was needed. As it turns out, they have been straight-up lying about their usage this entire time! Chainspect Why Chainspect, the blockchain explorer & metrics tracker, would unquestioningly repeat these lies. Taking its data directly from DFINITY's API is unknown Chain Inspect is not a registered company & for that reason & more, I was unable to find any connection to DFINITY, but it cannot be ruled out. They claim to be fiercely independent Chain Inspect only reports the 2k "TPS" figure, but that is still wildly misleading Especially since they do carry out more due diligence with other chains, such as by subtracting consensus messages in SOL, for example, as they very well should Weirdly, their own policy demands that they adjust their figures accordingly: "We aim to include only user-initiated transactions and exclude system ones, to enable fair comparison of different networks (e.g. for Solana we exclude “voting” transactions related to their custom consensus mechanism)." As a community, we need to point the finger here & ask @chainspect_app to update their policy on how they count ICP's "TPS". The correct number is below 1; reporting 2k+ instead is wildly misleading Do better, Chain Inspect! We are kindly holding you accountable today, as your website & service are otherwise great! Conclusion ICP is a ghost chain: There is nothing wrong with that, as we all need to start somewhere However, what is wrong is that they are actively lying about this fact. In the investment world, that is called fraud! Honesty & integrity matter far more to serious investors, as we are, myself included, willing to invest in "ghost chains", making a bet on a superior team & tech It is a shame, as ICP could be a great chain if they enshrined their subnets as I have previously recommended. If they also cleaned up their marketing, it could become a real contender Instead, the community will most likely respond with denial again. Exposing a sickness that is endemic within many small cryptocurrency communities Groupthink with cult-like dynamics, combined with both financial & peer pressure, creates one hell of a toxic soup Despite all of the personal attacks that will likely follow this critique, the truth speaks for itself. That is also one of the most wonderful things about crypto It is open-source code running a transparent blockchain. The scammers & crooks can not hide anymore with sufficient due diligence, of the sort we did here today To the ICP community, there are genuinely good, smart & well-meaning people there. We should never paint any community with a single brush For those of you receptive to this critique, I hope it will inspire ICP to clean up its act. Operating with more honesty & integrity is not only the right thing to do. It is also the best possible long-term strategy for success in our industry today When all is said & done. It is the truth that sets us all free! 🔥

I don't always agree with Dom. Sometimes he really does come across as desperate when he keeps talking about other projects instead of putting that energy into $ICP. But Justin Bons is on another level. He's a manipulative little weasel who seems determined to bend everything to fit his own narrative. The funny thing is, he often makes some perfectly reasonable points, only to slip a few questionable claims or outright nonsense into his long threads, making the whole thing sound like one convincing argument. I was genuinely tempted to launch a coin called Bonsense on @soonlaunchpad in his honour. Looking at the wider crypto industry, I'd say he's getting pretty close to deserving a meme coin of his own. 😂

I've been looking at what @DSCVR1 is doing these days, and it got me thinking about the whole DSCVR story. Especially how things have turned out compared to @TAGGRsocial. I remember DSCVR when it was one of the most talked-about social platforms on $ICP. It launched in 2021 with the ambition of becoming a decentralized alternative to traditional social media. In 2022, they raised $9 million in funding, led by Polychain Capital. By 2023, they had already passed 200,000 users. Then came Solana. I still remember how disappointed, even angry, many people in the ICP community were when DSCVR decided to shift its focus toward Solana. Some reacted as if ICP had just lost its entire future in decentralized social media. And DSCVR kept announcing impressive numbers. Hundreds of thousands of users, growing partnerships, Canvas integrations, and eventually a reported one million monthly unique visitors in 2024. Pretty impressive, at least on paper. Although looking back, I do wonder how many of those visitors were genuinely interested in the social platform and how many were simply chasing rewards, NFTs, and airdrops. That's something I've always questioned about growth statistics in Web3. Fast forward to 2025–2026, and DSCVR has taken another direction. Now it's AI agents, prediction markets, smart money signals, and market intelligence. And that's fine. I have absolutely nothing against projects adapting or trying something different when their original business model isn't working. Perhaps DSCVR will find its real success in AI. Who knows? But here's what I find interesting. I recently went back to DSCVR to see what had become of the social platform. I used Internet Identity back when it was on ICP, and now I can't even access my account. The site is practically unusable for me, and browsing around only reinforced the impression that the original social platform has become a graveyard. Quite a contrast to all those impressive numbers we used to hear about. Meanwhile, there's TAGGR. Let's be fair. TAGGR never experienced anything close to DSCVR's growth, funding, or publicity. Its community is small, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But years later, it's still running on ICP, still being developed, and still doing what it was originally built to do. There's also a genuine effort to make the platform sustainable over the long term. And yes, I still use it. Simply because I enjoy using it. Not because somebody pays me to promote it or because I expect it to become the next X. The funny part? The other day, some guy accused us of "trying to revive TAGGR." 😂 I've heard people declare TAGGR dead so many times over the years that I've honestly lost count. Revive what, exactly? The platform is still there. I can log in, publish, interact with people, and use it just as I have for years. Meanwhile, I can't even access the platform that once had all those hundreds of thousands of users. There's a certain irony in that. I have no idea what the future holds for either project. DSCVR might become successful with its AI products, and TAGGR might remain a relatively small social platform. I'm perfectly comfortable with both possibilities. But following these projects over the years has made me increasingly skeptical of impressive user statistics, enormous funding rounds, and endless announcements about the next big thing. None of those things necessarily tells you much about what will still be around five years later. Anyway, I'm going back to TAGGR. Apparently, it still needs reviving. 😂 #TAGGR post: taggr.link/post/1461018

🔒Sneed Lock Update ✅ Sneed Lock, the permissionless time locking service for tokens and ICPSwap Liquidity Positions (LPs), available directly from your Sneed Wallet on Sneed Hub, has a few exciting new updates! app.sneeddao.com/sneedlock ✅ Add Liquidity to Locked Position A recent feature request from a Sneed Lock user, now delivered, lets you add more liquidity (using the same proportions and ranges) to your LP while it remains locked in Sneed Lock custody. ✅ Withdraw LP Reward on Locked Position Withdraw your LP rewards from your LP that remains locked in Sneed Lock custody. You still can not withdraw your actual liquidity of course. (*) This is an improved feature, not a new feature, see note at the end. ✅ ICRC3 event log All Sneed Lock events are now published in an ICRC3 event log that anyone can use to verify everything that goes on in the canister. There is also a brand new ICRC3 browser tool under: app.sneeddao.com/tools/icrc3 Of course, since this is Sneed DAO, the ICRC3 browser doesn't just work for our Sneed Lock archive, but for all ICRC3 canisters. ✅ Improved Lock Wizard Until now, the wizard would start by assuming you had already transferred your LPs from ICPSwap to your Sneed Hub Wallet and were ready to lock, when in fact this was the most confusing step for many users. The new and improved wizard will now start from true step 0 and guide you all the way, from how to get your LP to your Sneed Hub Wallet (if it is not already there) to locking it. Locking your LPs or Tokens has never been easier! ✅ API documentation for integrators (humans and AI) New API documentation section under Sneed Help: app.sneeddao.com/api This contains everything needed for anyone who wants to integrate with the Sneed Lock API, perhaps to allow locking tokens/LPs directly from your dApp or wallet! The information is available in all the human friendly and AI friendly formats you'd expect that will allow you both to read and understand yourself, as well as point your AI to it and say "integrate." ✅ $10,000 Total Value Locked Sneed Lock recently passed its first big milestone with $10,000 in TVL, thanks mainly to a big DAMONIC/ICP position locked for a year! Now we hope more projects want to join DAMONIC in demonstrating confidence in their token and provide stability for traders, by using Sneed Lock! app.sneeddao.com/sneedlock Enjoy the new features, more are in the pipeline so stay tuned! (*) = The feature to withdraw rewards from a locked LP actually already worked, but thanks to the fantastic people at @ICPSwap it has been enormously improved. Before today there was a step where withdrawn rewards for different users were potentially co-mingled in the Sneed Lock custody canister, and we needed about 1,000 lines of code to compensate, tracking everything meticulously and supporting ways for the DAO to rescue funds if something went wrong. I had asked ICPSwap if they could create a new API that would allow funds to avoid co-mingling at any stage. This was not to save me 1,000 lines of code, as such, but to make everything more water tight. And being amazing sports and pillars of the ecosystem, the ICPSwap devs implemented a beautiful new API that solves the problem completely and now has allowed us to remove those 1,000 lines of code and avoid scenarios where the DAO might have to intervene entirely! Note that adding a new API to help an integrator is no small task for an operation of ICPSwap's size, with a fleet of hundreds of swap canisters that must all be upgraded! Thank you @ICPSwap you really really rock.

quick rundown on what Sneed DAO is and does
Thank you so much! How to get into Sneed...where to begin? 😀 The lore: when SNS1 launched a bunch of builders saw it as a good way to share an SNS for DAO control of canisters (as an alternative to blackholing) for community projects. When SNS1 became DKP some of us started Sneed DAO as a replacement for that idea. Since then we have been building and hosting things the community has come up with. Like SNS1 it is a blank canvas DAO, you're welcome to build or suggest pretty much anything. If some project manages to pull in some funds to the DAO, they are distributed to members using our "Recursive Liquidity Loop" infrastructure - in short Sneed pioneered the concept (from day 1, way before we were an SNS) of 1) setting up a solid LP 2) taking the ICP rewards from the LP and sending to an 8 year (now 2 year) neuron 3) use the ICP rewards from the neuron to buy back Sneed from DEXes 4) burn and distribute the bought back Sneed to members. Any revenues from Sneed products are feed into this loop. Examples of stuff members have built so far: Sneed Lock - permissionless time locking for tokens and ICPSwap LPs! "Liquid Locking" allows the locks themselves to be traded like NFTs while the tokens/LPs remain locked inside! app.sneeddao.com/sneedlock Unicycle - Canister cycle monitoring and auto-topup tool (excellent support for SNS DAOs where it can auto-send treasury props for refills when needed) ic-unicycle.com/ Swaprunner - DEX aggregator that is no longer useful because Kong folded so now it only "aggregates" ICPSwap. Deprecated, but it had its hay day... For games, we have the on-chain Arcade Classic Outrun, running in your browser (bring your own ROM)! Supports modern extensions like multiplayer, police chases and weapons. outrun4ever.com Most stuff, however (including Sneed Lock) is on our main dapp, called Sneed Hub: app.sneeddao.com/ There you can find lots and lots of info about our DAO as well as other SNSes, and a plethora of products, services, features... There are forums and polls for every SNS, with tipping, where you get up/down voting power from your hotkeyed neurons. Each SNS proposal gets its own discussion thread! Open for permissionless integration, TACO DAO also uses our forum for the forum on their website, users can see and reply to posts from both site on either site. There is a direct PID-PID messaging system, with message trees and multiple recipients. There is the Sneed Naming Service for assigning public names to PIDs and Neurons (only owners can assign names) as well as private nicknames (anyone can assign but only they can see). Integrated in our SNS/ICP proposal display pages so you can easily see who submitted a proposal. There is a wallet which supports tokens, ICPSwap LPs, ICP and SNS Neurons, dApps/Canisters, Sneed Locks, collecting your RLL rewards, you name it. You get notifications for all new proposals to your hotkeyed DAOs and see all new props in one handy page - and can even vote for them all in one go! There are info pages for every SNS. There are transaction explorers, DAO member and neuron explorers, again for every SNS, and canister managers (top up any canister with cycles, manage controllers and deploy WASM to canisters you control), There is Sneedex, the DEX for buying and selling whole canisters via escrow - public auction or private OTC offers - as well as selling batches of tokens, SNS neurons and Sneed Locks. There is a Jailbreak tool for setting the SNS neurons in your NNS Wallet free, so they can be traded on Sneedex. There is Sneedapp, the market place for on-demand minted canister dApps - currently offering the Sneed ICP Staking Bot that can manage an ICP Neuron on your behalf (allowing you indeed to trade the canister holding it on Sneedex) and the Sneed Trading Bot for automating trades. This is just some of what we have been up to so far ;) In addition we're working closely with other projects - ICPSwap for the LP locking, NTN and NeuronPool for Vectors that we use in the RLL, TACO DAO for forum and PID/Neuron name integration, Tendy/Delulu.DAO for delulu.game (based on the Sneed Mud project) and for sGLDT, the GLDT low-fee DeFi wrapper, as well as many other shenanigans. One of the things we love doing is creating infrastructure that is useful for all SNSes, not just ourselves. We're like a big, creative collective where everyone is welcome! Everything 100% on-chain of course. You should join us, we're doing quite a bit of useful stuff.

I use #TAGGR every day, it works, I’ve met some genuinely great people there, and I’ve never treated it like some casino bet I’m waiting to cash out of. The funny part is that by simply using it, I ended up earning TAGGR... a governance token I have no intention of dumping, just like plenty of OGs. So the “how’s TAGGR going for you?” line is honestly hilarious. 😂 That’s like some alien dropping out of the sky and asking: “How’s Facebook going for you?” “How’s Instagram going for you?” “How’s X going for you?” Bro, it’s a social network, not my failed hedge fund. I use it because I like using it. I know that concept can be confusing when everything has to be reduced to price charts and bags. $ICP

Realms on @TAGGRsocial aren’t tied to geography. They’re built around interests, ideas, work, culture, hobbies, and the people who actually care about them. A photographer in Slovenia, a designer in Japan, a researcher in Canada, and a musician in Brazil can all end up in the same Realm for the same reason: they have something in common. Some Realms can stay open. Some can be more selective. Some can simply become a permanent home for a niche community that would otherwise be scattered across different platforms. That’s the point. Communities without borders, built around what matters — fully on-chain on $ICP. #TAGGR

“I Can’t Stop Marketing $ICP for Free” because my engagement has dropped so badly that I’m willing to say what you want to hear, not what I actually think. That's what Jerry is thinking right now. One friendly reminder for people with goldfish memory: Jerry didn’t bring all that exposure to $ICP. $ICP brought the exposure to Jerry. Without ICP, he’s nobody — just a fool people either make fun of or blindly worship. That’s the part people conveniently keep forgetting.
