Andrew Neil takes apart the case for Britain rejoining the EU, arguing the Europe of 2026 bears no resemblance to the EU of 2016. From the rise of the AFD in Germany to Le Pen's dominance in France, Neil breaks down why the political and economic landscape in Europe has shifted dramatically since Brexit. A sharp, no-nonsense take on Brexit, the EU single market debate, and UK growth versus the EZ3 economies.

One wake up call the nationalist right needs is that Britain will have enemies whatever it does. You can prattle on about "Israeli genocide" and US military bases etc, but appeasing the Arab world does not take the target off our backs. Regardless of our foreign policy posture towards Israel, Iran and elsewhere, we are still the infidel.
When you see the Palestine flag on the streets of Britain, it is not the Palestine flag. It is the flag of the Islamo-leftist revolution. It does not seek a homeland for the Palestinians. They do not care about that at all. They want to overthrow the West. They want to overthrow capitalism. They want to overthrow democracy - and they will keep attacking us whatever we do.
This is why your average Tommy Robinson supporter is smarter than the grotbag right. They might spout the "Israel is our greatest ally" nonsense, but they at least understand who the enemy is. That's why you see so many Israel flags at Tommy Robinson demonstrations. It is not just a show of solidarity. It is a flag of defiance.
This is why I am deeply sceptical of the nationalist right and elements of Restore Britain. Doctrinal British nationalism is isolationist and believes that if we retreat from the world then the world will leave us alone. It doesn't work like that. Even remaining neutral has consequences.
This will become particularly apparent over the next few months and fuel and energy costs skyrocket. Ragbag bands of terrorists cannot defeat the West militarily but they do have us over a barrel (of oil) and they are quite capable of waging an economic war on the West, blocking sea lanes for starters - and states like Iran can throw the entire region into chaos by funding proxies like Hezbollah.
At some point, you have to decide what you're willing to let them get away with. At some point you have to make a choice and take a side. With these things, taking action has a price but then so does indecision and cowardice. You can appease these basketcase regimes, but they will still hate you and they will still undermine you. At some point you have top look at who they are and what they do, and think carefully about the costs of not taking a stand.
For sure, we could kick the USAF out of Fairford, but that doesn't mean they will allow oil tankers to sail to Britain if they're waving a British flag. These are not nice people we're dealing with. We can wean ourselves off middle eastern oil to some extent, but it still isn't in our interests to sit on our hands and let Islamist regimes do as they please - and the very last thing we should allow is the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
We could turn our backs on Israel, but that won't make the likes of ISIS, Hezbollah and Hamas hate the West any less. And what is the price of appeasing Islamists in our own back yard? They'll just start on the next agenda item. We no safer for appeasing them. Jihad isn't just concerned with the eradication of Jews. They come for us all eventually.
Nobody wants to be embroiled in the Middle East. There was never any optimal outcome from Trump's latest campaing against Iran, but between Israel and America, they have done enormous damage to Iran's capacity to wage war and disrupt the region - while its proxies have been badly mauled. Clearing out Hezbollah did the world a favour. Largely staying out of it didn't make us any safer or insulate us from the consequences.
For sure, the cost of fuel is going up but that's as much to do with closing down our domestic production capacity, which made us more reliant on the Middle East.
I'm not one for liberal interventionism or meddling in the sovereign affairs of others. That has never really paid off for us, even when we've acted with the best of intentions. All the same, we can't lose sight of the fact that we still have enemies in this world. I have no time for the moral relativism of the left that says we are as bad. We're not. We are right, they are wrong. Our way of life is objectively better - which is why our enemies always want to move here. The moment we concede the nihilistic left wing idea that we somehow deserve to be attacked because of our foreign policy is the moment we lose everything.

Just so we're clear...
We've had years and years of Islamist thugs roaming our streets masked up, Muslim women in burqas and left wing mobs hiding their identities.
That's acceptable. A few words of mild concern, but generally nobody cared.
But now is when the establishment acts?
After just ONE protest of concerned patriots who were looking to highlight the invasion of our country.
One protest from them, and the entire political establishment jumps into action.
Where was that passion before?
Labour, Reform, Tories. The police, the media.
Now is when they all passionately agree that face coverings are unacceptable and must be banned?
Our establishment is rotten to the core and must be replaced.

£1M LATER… AND I WAS RIGHT TO ASK QUESTIONS
This is now the SECOND video that somebody has independently made about what has happened over the last year.
I did not ask for this video. I did not know it was being made.
But perhaps people are finally beginning to understand why I refused to stay silent.
For almost a year I have challenged what was happening with Local Government Reorganisation in Kent. I questioned the process, the expenditure and why KCC was pressing ahead with costly preparations when there was no certainty about what would ultimately happen.
I spoke out.
I subsequently lost my position within Reform UK.
But I did NOT stop asking questions.
And now look where we are.
Kent and Medway’s LGR has been PAUSED pending a Government review.
Linden Kemkaran has herself said that the process has cost taxpayers “around £1 million so far” — and described it as a “monumental waste of public money and officer and councillor time”.
Those are HER words.
Yet months earlier, KCC’s Monitoring Officer had confirmed to me that KCC was not the decision-maker on LGR and that there was no specific legislation obliging KCC to incur expenditure on it.
And on 9 June 2026, Linden Kemkaran, as Leader of Kent County Council, personally took the formal Key Decision approving procurement of a Strategic Partner to facilitate and assist with LGR activity, including arrangements connected with transition and implementation planning.
So Kent taxpayers are entitled to some very straightforward answers.
Exactly how much has now been spent?
Exactly how much has been contractually committed?
What liabilities remain?
Why did KCC continue preparing and committing resources when these concerns had repeatedly been raised?
And if, in Linden Kemkaran’s own words, this has resulted in a “monumental waste of public money”, who takes responsibility for the decisions made at KCC along the way?
For months I was treated as though I was the problem because I would not stop asking difficult questions.
I kept the evidence.
I kept asking.
And I kept speaking out.
I will continue to do so.
Thank you to the colleague who made this video completely independently and unbeknown to me.
Please watch it — then look at the public record and draw your own conclusions.

Britain’s cost‑of‑living crisis won’t be fixed by tinkering with headline tax rates. The real damage comes from stealth taxes buried in everyday life — Fuel Duty, VAT on essentials, and Insurance Premium Tax. These hidden charges quietly drain thousands of pounds from working families and small businesses every year. Cutting them isn’t just social fairness; it’s smart economics.
Put more money back into consumers’ and entrepreneurs’ pockets, and you immediately stimulate spending, investment and confidence. Lower stealth taxation means stronger high streets, healthier small firms and a faster‑growing UK economy. It’s time for a tax strategy that backs the people who actually drive growth

The Steak Bake Battalions
I have said it for years.
The men who will save this country can be found every morning, from six until half past eight, at almost every Greggs in the land.
They are there before the office lights come on. Before the besuited pen-pushers arrive for their lattes. Before the morning fills with pushchairs, school runs and meetings about meetings.
They are already awake. Already moving. Already at work.
You will know them.
Men in high-vis and cargo shorts. In battered work trousers and steel toe-capped boots. Sometimes in hard hats. Paint-spattered. Plaster-caked. Oil beneath their fingernails. Bags beneath their eyes.
They queue for coffee, bacon rolls and Steak Bakes.
The banter is merciless. The humour is dark. The language is occasionally appalling. But the fellowship is real.
They are the grafters.
Tradesmen. Engineers. Drivers. Fitters. Welders. Bricklayers. Scaffolders. Electricians. Plumbers. Mechanics. Machine operators. Small businessmen. Employers and employees.
Working-class men. Middle-class men. Englishmen, Scotsmen, Welshmen and Northern Irishmen.
British men.
While much of the country still sleeps, they are leaving their wives, their children and their warm homes. They climb into cold vans. They drive through darkness and rain. They go where the work is.
They build Britain.
They keep the lights on and the water flowing. They repair the roads. Raise the scaffolding. Lay the bricks. Weld the steel. Fix the boilers. Clear the drains. Restore the roofs. Mend what is broken.
They rarely appear on television.
Nobody invites them onto fashionable panels. Nobody asks what they think. Nobody in Whitehall seems particularly interested in whether they can afford another van, another apprentice or another year of taxes, regulations and rising costs.
Yet without them, the country stops.
Completely.
These are the descendants of the men of Agincourt and Waterloo. Of the Somme and Dunkirk. Of D-Day, Korea, the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Not trained soldiers, most of them. But recognisably of the same temper.
The same stubbornness. The same humour in adversity. The same refusal to make a song and dance of hardship. The same instinct to shoulder the load, finish the job and look after the man beside them.
They carry an inheritance shaped across centuries. Celt and Pict. Roman and Saxon. Viking and Norman. Generations forged by cold seas, hard ground, long winters, dangerous work and war.
Their forebears built ships, railways, bridges, factories and cities. They crossed oceans. They defeated Napoleon, Hitler and Galtieri. They created an empire of extraordinary reach and consequence, and then spent British blood and treasure destroying the slave trade across much of the world.
They were not flawless men. No nation is flawless.
But they were formidable.
And these men are formidable still.
They are not extremists. They are not fanatics. They do not spend their days raging online. Most ask for very little.
A fair wage. A decent home. Safe streets. A future for their children. The freedom to speak plainly. And a country that remembers who built it.
But beneath the dust, the laughter and the apparent indifference, something remains.
A deep attachment to home.
A quiet patriotism.
A line that can be pushed only so far.
When this country finally decides that mass immigration must end, that integration must mean something, that borders must be real and that Britain must remain recognisably British, it will not be delivered by consultants, commentators or career politicians.
It will be delivered by the people who already carry Britain on their backs.
They are out there every morning.
Millions of them.
Waiting patiently in the half-light. Vans lined along the kerb. Engines ticking. Reflective jackets catching the first grey light of dawn.
Coffee in one hand. Steak Bake in the other.
The backbone of Britain.
The Steak Bake Battalions.

Some of the causes I have donated to...
- Great Yarmouth Community First Responders
- St Mary Magdalene Church
- Hemsby Lifeboat
- Phoenix Karate Schools
- Martham Boat Dyke Trust (helping young people get skilled qualifications)
- Shine, a local charity helping children with special educational needs and disabilities
- A graffiti clean up
- Belton Scouts Group
- Caister Lifeboat
- Great Yarmouth Pathway Cafe & Support Centre (food bank)
- Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, ensuring everyone could access a poppy for free.
- Great Yarmouth Sea Cadets
- East Coast Truckers (helping disabled children)
- Great Yarmouth Minister (repairing a church window)
- St Elizabeth Hospice
- Centre 81 Dementia Programme
- Louise Hamilton Trust (end of life care)
- Local football club
- A Heart2Heart lifesaving defibrillator
Each and every month this money is donated - I made a promise during the election, and I am keeping that promise.
I am NOT in politics for the money.
If I wanted to increase my bank balance? TRUST ME - I would not be doing this.
Roughly £100k donated since the election, and I will continue to do so. As promised to my constituents.
If those journalists want to take up the offer and see how that money has been spent, they know where to find me.
