Excellent overview of the ecommerce market in 2026 with many mind blowing graphs and data

Turned off our ads as promised.
We apparently lost our organic search rank for "stem toy" for Brain Flakes, but I was happy to do it.
Amazon needs stop treating their sellers like a couch they can reach into every time they need money.

Amazon sellers are boycotting today, April 15th, over the new credit card ban for ad costs. Amazon's already backpedaling, but sellers are making their voices heard. Are you participating? #AmazonSellers #Boycott @amazonPPC

In the last 12 months I’ve spent heavily on Amazon ads alone.Yesterday I was notified that starting August 1, I can no longer use credit cards. With DD+7, this is painful for business’s cash flow
@amznsellerhelp @amazon there has 2 be a better solution for bootstrapped businesses
Taking part in the Amazon ads boycott today.
Between DD+7, a 3.5% surcharge, and now credit card ad changes — something has to give.
I wish they understood how critical cash flow is to the sellers funding their entire ads ecosystem.
Facebook and Google sell ads to drive traffic — they don't care what happens after the click. Amazon is different. Their ad revenue only exists because sellers are actually moving products on their platform. Squeeze sellers too hard and the whole flywheel breaks.

Amazon...is the fuel surcharge going away since prices dropped? @ajassy

In the last 12 months I have spent over 7m on Amazon ads alone. Yesterday I was notified that 1 Aug I can no longer use CCs. This coupled with DD+7 is painful for any biz's cash flow. @amznsellerhelp @amazon there has to be a better solution for us bootstrapped businesses.

First time I ever went on the record with a reporter even though I've been asked a million times. Feel like Amazon has gone too far this time and hope everyone sees it.

This April 15th boycott is not just about an ad fee.
It is about the continued policy changes that keep hurting Amazon business valuations.
These businesses once sold for as high as 8x earnings.
Now many are closer to 3x on the high end.
Every new fee, cash flow squeeze, and rule change does not just reduce profit.
It makes Amazon-first businesses less attractive, less durable, and less valuable to buyers.
That matters.
So when Amazon takes $1 from a seller today, they are not just taking $1.
They may be taking $3, $4, or $5 from that founder’s future exit too.
That is what makes this bigger than a fee fight.
It is a valuation fight.
We’re dealing with a tough situation on Amazon right now, and I’m sharing it because other brands heading into Q4 may face the same thing.
One of our flagship products was approved for a 12-day Best Deal (11/20–12/1). We built inventory, planned our strategy, and launched exactly at the price Amazon approved - the lowest Q4 price we've ever offered.
A few days into the deal, the system suddenly changed the discount requirements with no notice. Our deal badge disappeared, and Amazon started requiring an additional ~30% off beyond the approved deal price - a price point where we’d lose money on every unit.
We’ve never sold anywhere near that price. The choice became: run the deal at a loss or lose the deal entirely.
Sales dropped immediately. And because the change happened after inventory was already shipped in, we now have a large amount of stock stuck in FBA during the most expensive storage period of the year.
While we wait in appeal limbo, every day adds:
• High Q4 storage fees
• Risk of long-term storage fees
• Capital tied up
• Lost ranking and deal momentum
The bigger concern: if the system locks in this ultra-low price as the “correct” discount baseline, it may become impossible to run profitable deals this season.
Small brands can’t absorb sudden algorithmic price shifts like this. We followed the process, agreed to the terms, shipped the inventory and the requirements changed mid-deal.
At this point I don't know what to do - been panicking all day and feeling kind of stuck.

The same abusive buyer is now up to 384 orders. Four more orders placed yesterday.
Seller Support has conducted 3 investigations without taking action.
How is 100% Return rate not flagged as fraud or abuse?? @amznsellerhelp
Amazon believes buyer return abuse is a solved problem. I have 379 orders from one buyer that say otherwise. A Seller Support investigation last month did not solve the problem. Please help me escalate this issue to the right team. @amznsellerhelp

.@SecScottBessent @howardlutnick @USTradeRep even China is recognizing that they need to tax Chinese sellers on eCom marketplaces in the United States.
Why doesn't the U.S. do the same thing (foreign sellers are EXEMPT from US taxes)?
This is BILLIONS in revenue for the US!!!
YES! Let's see if it actually changes anything.
