Jack Grove spent months investigating Jason Arday's alleged plagiarism, fraud and serial fabulism. But Times Higher Education spiked his investigation in the face of an ominous overture from a fearsome defamation law firm. Now his work is being recognized nevertheless:
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

Despite the tragic outcome, this WAS a story and Jack was doing his job properly. There will be weeping and gnashing in certain quarters but it’s right that the journalism is recognised…

These people inhabit a really intense, self-reinforcing universe. Jason Arday has been 'cleared.' You can literally access the papers with the plagiarized and fabricated material. It's right there! It's a matter of objective reality! Not to them. We're cooked.

He’s been cleared and you contributed to a pile on that led to a loss of life. To accept an award nomination for it - well tells the world all it needs to know about the kind of human being you are.

Regardless of what you think of the ABA's diversity rules, the fact that they thought their preferences overruled the Constitution and state statutes and constitutions shows that the ABA is unfit to function as a law school accreditor.

People online love mocking Japan with atomic bomb jokes, yet Nagasaki—a city literally reduced to ashes 80 years ago—is cleaner, safer, and far more stunning than Paris or Brasília today. No excuses. No victim mentality. Just pure resilience, discipline, and silent work. True greatness isn't barking on the internet. It's building something beautiful from zero.

Paying taxes is a bummer. Someone tell me how to get in on the fraud. How about: I'm a cold, hungry autist in need of a learing center. That's gotta be like $5 mil, right?
As colder temperatures settle into Minnesota, state officials say $111 million is available to help income-qualified households pay heating bills and keep their homes warm this winter. READ MORE at the link in bio.

Wait — after the Tenant skips are two thirds of their rent, they are allowed to stay???
Replying to @CMRobertWhiteDC
Tenants may be eligible for help to clear the debt. In these cases, the District will pay up to 1/3 of the back rent only if the landlord agrees to forgive at least 1/3 of it too. The tenant then covers the rest. Tenants could also get repairs for their unit or agree to move out.

How about people should meet their contractual obligations, instead of the government (taxpayers) bailing them out?

Democrats were in charge until January 2025 and didn't. There is no "there" there. It's just each party out of power suggesting the other party is hiding something that the out of power party will totes release if elected. And then they switch places.
If/when Dems take over, I want them to push for the release of the Epstein files. I don’t care if it implicates Republicans or Dems or beloved celebs. The truth will set us free.

No Dem wants to end poverty. How do I know? The Moynihan Report. If he was wrong, why haven't Dems ever tested his arguments? Bizarre that there's an actionable solution out there & none of the virtue-signalers care.
You don’t find it weird that not a single billionaire wants to end world poverty? Doesn’t it strike you as bizarre that no one with that kind of wealth wants to be the hero who actually solves the world’s biggest problems when they literally could? Isn’t that suspicious?

I just do not have the personality type that responds well to the beggars of political campaigns. Obviously I'm in the minority, but every text I receive hardens my heart to the individual, cause, & party. I hate you.

There is no spending as extravagant and wasteful as government spending and billionaries are smart to not want to give the government an extra dime.
What amazes me is the attitude of so many of the centibillionaires. A 5% tax will not make any difference to the way they live. Their spending may be extravagant, but it is still much less than their (correctly measured) income. They know that, as gifted as some of them indeed are, they have benefited from extreme luck (and the help of the state, and, to speak like an economist, monopoly rents). They know that their effective tax rate is low, relative to what many others pay. They know that extreme inequality is extremely unpopular, and can lead to political unrest, backlash, or worse. They must admit that, morally, it is hard to argue for a society in which some become obscenely wealthy, while so many are poor and see their income stagnate. They typically have not indicated that they are building their wealth to eventually make the world a better place. But they are still willing to fight the tax, spending hundreds of millions in California to avoid paying the tax. Why? They simply think what is theirs is theirs, end of story. They believe in the slippery slope, and if they do not take a stand on this levy, the government will come back for more. They hate the state and the notion that their money will be misused? Or?

Ireland is now a country where grandparents naturally expressing their affection for their grandchildren is dubious, but men chestfeeding babies for sexual gratification is perfectly fine.
The latest ad from the Irish Government to the Irish people, who are the font of all problems in the country and desperately need to be stopped from their bad behaviour. This time, it's hugging your grandkids.
