Paging @Pirates. You can never have enough good baseball people, especially those who truly understand the region and love the franchise.
To all my Friends, Rockies fans, current and past Players, members of the entire Colorado Rockies Organization top to bottom,
I would like to extend my appreciation and love for being part of an incredible journey for over 20 years.
I was granted the opportunity to coach and manage this club. Then, I was asked to come back and mentor the young players and future leaders of this organization. Both were gifts. Thank you to Dick Monfort for trusting me with both of those journeys and for always treating me like family and making Colorado feel like home.
What I will hold onto most isn’t the wins. It’s the people! They are what Rocktober was built on. That’s what the next great Rockies team will be built on too.
With my last day being October 31, 2026….just know that I am not retiring…but rather recalculating my journey personally and professionally.
In the words of my favorite Doctor….”Don’t be sad it’s over be glad it happened” - Dr. Seuss
Thank you for your support over the years. My family and I have loved our time in Colorado, and will always cherish our memories in purple.
Make a difference today,
Love Clint
@Rockies

Even though I’ve been a Pirates fan since birth, I grew up outside Philadelphia and have strong memories of listening to Harry Kalas call Phillies games.
He was a true master, whose calls of exciting plays or home runs are legendary (“Swing, and a LONG DRIVE!!!).
He also knew how to stay silent between pitches and let the sounds of the ballpark speak for a few moments.
Baseball on the radio is golden.

#LeadershipMatters Thanks, Aaron. I agree. Playing a game in Paris is utter stupidity. #FireGoodell

The distance between Cy Young and Walter Johnson is 94 wins, a full career for a lot of good pitchers. Look at Warren Spahn at 363.
He missed three seasons to World War II and did not win his first major league game until he was 25. Add three prewar years at his normal rate and he is knocking on 400.
Would you rank anyone differently here?

"It is a joke.
The game is becoming a freaking joke because of the nerds who are running it.
These guys played rotisserie baseball at Harvard or wherever the f--- they went and they thought they figured the f---ing game out.
They don't know s---.
A bunch of f---ing nerds running the game.
You can't slide into second base.
You can't take out the f---ing catcher because Posey was in the wrong position and they are going to change all the rules.
You can't pitch inside anymore.
I'd like to knock some of these f---ers on their ass.
Ryan Braun is a f---ing steroid user.
He gets a standing ovation on "Opening Day" in Milwaukee.
How do you explain that to your kid after throwing people under the bus and lying through his f---ing teeth?
They don't have anyone passing the f---ing torch to these people.
If I had acted like that, you don't go in that f---ing dugout.
There are going to be 20 f---ing guys waiting for you."

"In a good winter I'll dig 50 graves.
It's good work.
I get 25 bucks a grave.
If it has snowed, you just use a pick and shovel, scoop away the snow, the ground is good and soft.
But if it hasn't snowed, the ground might be frozen two feet down.
You have to use a pneumatic drill.
One time last winter, the ground was so hard and the weather was so cold I said:
"Ah, that's deep enough."
There's a law that a grave's got to be so deep, five feet or something, and the Rabbi says:
"That's not deep enough."
"Did you ever see one get out?' I asked him.
One woman, they forgot to take off her wooden leg, we had thrown several shovels of dirt on her already when somebody came up and said we had to get her back out so they could get her wooden leg.
Another woman fell into the grave in the middle of the service.
Did a header.
"Get her out, get her out," the Rabbi was yelling.
I said:
"Naw, leave her in there and give her a discount."
The Rabbi looked at my father and said:
"Who is this you've got digging graves?"

“No Game Today” is inspired @AndrewCMcCarthy. I was the player coach for the smallest, slowest least diverse team in the 1985 Alexandria City League. 0-10. I could have used that name.
After @hughhewitt -v- Il Papa on MLB playoffs, I'm ornery but, thanks to @RichLowry, high energy today on our pod: political theater masqueraded law -- the Cornell 7 & death penalty aesthetics. Iran in the middle ... and in the UK. Hope you'll tune in. nationalreview.com/podcasts/…

I have been pretty critical of Trump on Iran, but this is a shamefully dishonest mischaracterization of what he said, which is that he does not want that to happen, and that he thinks that higher gas prices are worth it to ensure that it doesn't. teapawt.net/HQNewsNow/status/21072…
