The Washington Human Rights Commission found an all-nude Korean women's spa in violation of its gender identity policy for refusing entry to an untransitioned man with an intact penis who claims to be a woman, pictured below. The Commission compelled the erasure of the Spa's "biological women only" policy (it actually did allow men who had removed their genitals while claiming to be women) and forced the owners to undergo DEI training. The Olympus Spa sued for violation of its First Amendment Rights and lost at both the district and appellate levels. On the cusp of a response to the spa's request seeking cert at SCOTUS, the Human Rights Commission has made a sudden about face, proposing to amend the administrative code implementing the state's human rights law to permit businesses for which nudity is compulsory to keep certain genitals out. This would settle the specific dispute between the Spa and the Commission but not necessarily end the case. SCOTUS could take the case and end up ruling that the Commission violated the Spa's Constitutional rights in a ways that could affect other nudity-compulsory business or find that genital prohibitions don't violate gender identity protections. The case does not threaten the state's gender identity protections as a whole, which the Commission issued a statement that it remained committed to preserving, but the emergency rule change appears to be an attempt to avoid the possibility of a constitutional finding that it violated the Spa's First Amendment Rights.
EXCLUSIVE: The Washington Human Rights Commission voted to amend state code so businesses that "require nudity as a central purpose...may maintain a rule that entry to spaces where nudity is required be based on genital characteristics." The commission did this on an emergency basis "to address pending litigation," likely from the lawsuits regarding single gender spas The commission added, "We are very committed to protecting transgender rights" The attorney general's office must now file the rule change. Right now, the law still says "all entities shall allow individuals the use of facilities consistent with the person's gender expression or identity," including locker rooms.

Avi Shlaim, an Oxford professor, says Israel “made it impossible” for Jews to keep living in Baghdad. My mother’s family is from Baghdad. Here is what he left out: Jewish life under Arab rule was never equal. For centuries Jews lived as dhimmis, a “protected” minority, and the protection came with rules: • A Jew could not testify against a Muslim in court. • A synagogue could not stand taller than a mosque. • Jews could not ride horses or carry weapons. • Jews paid a special tax for the right to exist. • Jews wore identifying marks on their clothes, a thousand years before the Nazis. Then in June 1941 a mob in Baghdad killed almost 200 Jews in two days. My grandmother hid in the back of a café while a man shot a mother’s seven children in front of her. Israel did not exist yet. In 1948 Iraq made Zionism a crime punishable by death. In 1950 it let Jews leave only if they gave up their citizenship. In 1951 it froze their bank accounts and took their homes. My grandparents arrived in Israel that year with nothing. In 1969 it hanged nine Jews in a public square and invited crowds to celebrate. None of that was Israel. That was Iraq, doing it to its own citizens. Shlaim knows all of this. He is one voice in a bigger project, and the project has a purpose. If you can convince people that Jews lived happily in Arab lands until Zionism, then 850,000 Jewish refugees stop being refugees. They become people who left for no reason. The Arab governments that robbed and expelled them get a clean record. And Israel, a country where most Jews come from the Middle East, can be sold as a European colony that has no business existing there. Even though ALL JEWS are indigenous to this land, no matter where in the diaspora we lived. That is the point of the trend. Erase the Mizrahi story and there is only one refugee story left in the region, and only one side with a grievance. It takes a Jew with an Oxford title to make that erasure respectable. There is a market for it, and he is not the only one selling. Share this with someone who has never heard the word Farhud.

In a stunning innovation, Greater Manchester’s police have discovered that if officers turn up to burglaries (instead of screening them out as “low-level”), talk to people, look at CCTV, do forensics and chase the local career criminals, they solve nearly three times as many as the national average and cut break-ins in half. Truly novel. Who knew the beating heart of policing might involve neighbourhood bobbies catching local burglars? A model for the ages.

This is a de facto Nazi rally. This is how it starts. The Holocaust didn’t begin with death camps. It began with words and demonization.

Except no one “took” their land. They left at the behest of the five Arab countries who attacked Israel in 1948. They left so that those attacking us would have the ability to slaughter us unencumbered. Israel asked them to stay and offered full citizenship. The Arabs who stayed were given full citizenship and equal rights under law. Those who left so that we could be slaughtered were not welcomed back. It is interesting that you ignored my allusion to the Arab countries in the MENA who between 1948 and the early 1970’s forcibly exiled 850,000 Jews from their homes and communities, destroyed their houses of worship, and stole their real and personal property. In 1948, there were 265,000 Jews in Morocco, 140,000 in Algeria, 105,000 in Tunisia, 38,000 in Libya, 100,000 in Egypt, 30,000 in Syria, 7,000 in Lebanon, 60,000 in Yemen, and 135,000 in Iraq. Today, there are fewer than 10 Jews in Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya. There are 50 in Algeria, 20 in Lebanon, 30 in Syria, and a couple thousand in Morocco and Tunisia. Iran has around 9,500 Jews as of 2025. That is what ethnic cleansing looks like.

Your ancestors being persecuted in Europe does not give you a hereditary deed to someone else’s home in Palestine. 🤷🏻‍♂️ A 3000 year old historical connection to a land you have no actual connection to today is not the same thing as a modern legal right to dispossess people who were already living there. You can list Assyrians, Romans, Nazis and the Spanish Inquisition all day.. none of them explain why a Palestinian family should lose its land today. Past persecution does not create a license for present dispossession...

NHS SPENT MILLIONS SILENCING SIX DOCTORS. EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS RIGHT Private Eye @PrivateEyeNews called them the Super Sextet. Six doctors and executives who saw dangerous things happening in NHS hospitals, raised the alarm, and were systematically destroyed for it. Not one of them was wrong. Every single concern turned out to be valid. Dr Kim Holt @drkimholt warned Great Ormond Street Hospital that the child protection clinic in Haringey was dangerously understaffed and missing patient records. Management put her on special leave for four years. Baby Peter Connelly died. The trust spent £286,000 on consultants to investigate itself and found no management failings. Then it offered Holt £120,000 to sign a super-gag and disappear. She refused. Steve Bolsin, cardiac anaesthetist at Bristol Royal Infirmary, spent six years documenting that children were dying at an entirely avoidable rate during heart surgery. He raised it internally. He raised it with the Department of Health. He was told to keep his head down. Between 30 and 35 children died unnecessarily. Bolsin was described at a European surgeons conference as the most hated anaesthetist in Europe. He left the UK in 1995 and never came back. Ash Pawade turned around a catastrophic children's heart surgery unit in Bristol. When a baby died after an overworked perfusionist made a drug error caused by NHS staffing cuts, Pawade backed his colleague and called management to account. He was ordered to apologise for impugning the trust's legal team. He left the NHS without any recognition. Dr Raj Mattu, a world-renowned cardiologist in Coventry, watched a patient die because five beds had been crammed into a ward designed for four, leaving three beds with no access to oxygen or suction. He reported it. A senior manager responded by saying he wanted Mattu off the road completely. Mattu was suspended for six years, then sacked. The trust spent over £14 million of public money trying to discredit him. He was eventually awarded £1.22 million. The CEO who oversaw the campaign against him was given a CBE. Gary Walker was brought in to turn around United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust after seven CEOs in six years. He balanced the books and hit the targets. When a winter surge led clinicians to warn that patient lives were at risk, Walker wrote to his Strategic Health Authority. The SHA's chief executive emailed back: you need to meet targets whatever the demand. Walker was sacked in 2010 for gross misconduct. The gross misconduct was using the f-word nine times in three meetings over two years, not directed at anyone in particular. Dr Peter Wilmshurst, consultant cardiologist at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, spent 30 years reporting research fraud, confronting pharmaceutical companies, and taking on anyone who put profit above patient safety. He was sued for libel three times by a US medical device company after accurately reporting that their product did not work. The legal battle nearly cost him his home. The same playbook runs across all of them: suspend the whistleblower, bury them in vexatious complaints, pay management consultants to clear management, offer a gag clause, and wait for the person to break. @NHS spent millions silencing these six people. Not one manager faced meaningful consequences for any of it. Source: Shoot the Messenger, @PrivateEyeNews Special Report by Dr Phil Hammond @drphilhammond and Andrew Bousfield

Telling the story of what happened in my last years at the BBC has meant being honest about something I have found even harder to talk about. After I raised a grievance about antisemitism, I was gradually isolated and denied more and more of the job I loved so much. The loneliness of that took a serious toll on my mental health. I became ill with anorexia, a recurrence of an illness I had when I was younger, but this time it came back with a vengeance. Each time I thought I was taking a step or two forward, something would happen at work that knocked me back. I was ashamed, and at times I am not sure I was believed. I kept trying to explain that I was struggling. More than once I was told I wasn’t the only one. I felt like colleagues thought I was making it up. Since February last year I have been admitted to hospital four times. The most recent admission, and I hope the last, was for three months over the summer. The NHS staff on that ward saved me. I’m sharing this because if I was going to tell my story honestly, I had to tell all of it. Shame keeps people silent. Anorexia is an illness, not a choice and not a weakness, and no one who is this unwell should have to prove it. Swipe for some of what I was told along the way. @HadleyFreeman has also struggled with anorexia, and in her brilliant piece in The Sunday Times she writes about our shared experience. Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

If Zelensky Is So Corrupt, Why Can’t Anyone Buy Him? 🇺🇦 I just realized something almost hilarious if it wasn’t very obvious and also real about the whole anti-Zelensky narrative. For years we have been told that Zelensky is corrupt, illegitimate, a puppet, a billionaire thief, some CIA creation, whatever version happens to be useful that day. And yet somehow Putin, Trump, oligarchs, billionaires and the entire anti-Ukraine political machine still cannot control him. Think about that contradiction. Zelensky was elected in 2019 with about 73% of the runoff vote. Ukraine has not held another presidential election because elections are suspended under martial law during Russia’s invasion, something Zelensky has said could change if conditions allow a safe and legal vote. Meanwhile Trump, Elon and others are now openly calling for Ukraine to replace him after Zelensky refused demands to stop attacking Russian energy infrastructure and bend over to them. And this is where their own propaganda stops making sense. If Zelensky were really as spectacularly corrupt as they claim, why wouldn’t somebody have bought him years ago? Putin has all the money. Russian oligarchs have money. Western billionaires have money. Elon has more money than all of them. Trump has political power. There are people with enormous financial and geopolitical interests who would benefit from a Ukrainian president willing to make the right deal for them. If Zelensky were really nothing but a corrupt opportunist, the easiest path imaginable would have been to take the money, make peace with Putin on Putin’s terms, protect himself, become insanely wealthy, powerful and live comfortably ruling the Ukraine and the area as a probably richest dictator on earth. Instead, Russia invaded, Zelensky stayed, Ukraine kept fighting, and years later these people are still trying to pressure him, discredit him, replace him and convince everyone that he is somehow the problem. Trump and Elon has now publicly called for Ukraine to get a new president after Zelensky resisted pressure over Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries. Their relationship has deteriorated sharply precisely because Zelensky has continued pursuing policies Washington told him to stop. So maybe the reason so many powerful men seem absolutely fucking obsessed with Zelensky is much simpler than all the conspiracy theories. Maybe they hate him because they cannot break him. Maybe they hate him because they cannot buy him. Maybe they are simply jealous of him and his amazing courage and integrity.? And maybe nothing drives men obsessed with power more insane than another man they cannot control.

While celebrating his 36th wedding anniversary with his wife, on the Italian luxury cruise ship Achille Lauro, the vessel was hijacked by members of the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF). Because he was Jewish and American, Leon Klinghoffer—who was 69 years old and used a wheelchair after suffering a debilitating stroke—was singled out, shot in the head, and thrown overboard along with his wheelchair. Remember his name. Never forget the evils perpetrated by the Palestinians. Read more about Leon Klinghoffer and the hijacking of the Achille Lauro in the post below.
Four armed hijackers executed a 69-year-old disabled American in a wheelchair and threw him overboard into the Mediterranean—only for US Navy fighter jets to ambush their getaway airliner in pitch-black airspace, forcing it down onto a NATO runway for an armed standoff between American commandos and Italian carabinieri. The reason might surprise you. On October 7, 1985, the Italian luxury cruise liner MS Achille Lauro was cruising off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt, carrying hundreds of international holidaymakers. While the majority of passengers had disembarked for a shore excursion to Cairo, four heavily armed militants from the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF), led by 23-year-old Youssef Majed al-Molqi, seized the vessel. Their original plan had been to stay undercover until the ship docked in Ashdod, Israel, to launch a suicide raid on military installations. But when a cabin steward caught them cleaning assault rifles in their state room, they panicked, commandeered the bridge, and held over 400 remaining passengers and crew hostage. They redirected the cruise liner toward Tartus, Syria, demanding the immediate release of 50 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. When the Syrian government refused to allow the ship to enter port, the hijackers decided to execute a hostage to prove their resolve: They singled out Leon Klinghoffer, a 69-year-old Jewish-American retired appliance manufacturer from New York who had suffered two severe strokes and was confined to a wheelchair. Forced onto the open deck, Klinghoffer was shot once in the forehead and once in the chest. The hijackers then forced two ship crew members at gunpoint to dump Klinghoffer's body and his wheelchair into the open sea. Fearing international retaliation, PLF leader Muhammad Zaidan (known as Abu Abbas) established radio contact with the ship, ordering the hijackers to steer back toward Port Said, Egypt. In Cairo, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak arranged a controversial diplomatic compromise: In exchange for releasing the cruise ship and the remaining hostages unharmed, the hijackers were granted safe passage out of Egypt aboard a commercial EgyptAir Boeing 737 bound for Tunis, alongside Abu Abbas. President Mubarak publicly claimed the hijackers had already left the country, but US intelligence knew the plane had not yet taken off from Al Maza military airbase. When President Ronald Reagan learned of Klinghoffer's murder, he issued an immediate directive: intercept the airliner. On the night of October 10, four F-14 Tomcat fighter jets from the USS Saratoga (Carrier Air Wing 17), supported by an E-2C Hawkeye radar plane, roared off the catapults into the dark Mediterranean sky: Without using radio transmissions or radar illumination, the F-14s crept up on the EgyptAir flight in complete blackout mode at 34,000 feet south of Crete. Switching on running lights and drawing within inches of the airliner’s wingtips, the American fighter pilots rocked their wings and radioed the Egyptian pilot directly on emergency frequencies: "Divert your heading to Sigonella, or face interception." Flanked on both wings by armed Tomcats, the airliner had no choice but to follow the escorts down to Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily. The crisis, however, didn't end on the tarmac. It triggered a near-shooting standoff between two NATO allies: As soon as the airliner touched down at midnight, US Navy SEAL Team Six operators surrounded the plane in tactical gear. Within minutes, fifty Italian Carabinieri and military police surrounded the Navy SEALs with submachine guns, drawing down on the Americans. Italian Prime Minister Bettino Craxi insisted that because the aircraft had landed on sovereign Italian soil and the hijacking occurred on an Italian-flagged ship, Italy retained absolute legal jurisdiction. This is quite a widespread misconception about employers’ powers. Employers can give employees reasonable instructions without justifying them by reference to a specific rule in an existing policy.
1) any case law for that? Be interesting to see it. 2) it’s not a lawful order as there is no dress code that would pass legal muster here.

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course. He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later. By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart. He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother. Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother. An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform. He never stopped and left school at 15. By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that. In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard. Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth. You’ve probably heard that part. Here’s the part you haven’t: He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence. But he never stopped trying to understand his father. He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock. He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours. He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him. So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans. In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence. He asked, “My dear, are you okay?” Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.” At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him. 2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait. He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.” After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows. He played every character himself and donated every cent. In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers. In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring. She was his first dog in more than 50 years. He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family. Then he kept fostering more. When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives. So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time. Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

David Abraham, a black Jew, boarded a bus in North London, in October 2025. He touched the payment device with his credit card as normal, but when the Stamford Hill bus driver, Paul Lindo 60, said, “I don’t like Jews,” he was startled and dropped his card in between the touch device and the plastic covering. Lindo then told him how he hated Jews and locked the passenger inside the bus for more than an hour. David videoed himself as he couldn’t believe a black man would do this to a black man. The incident was reported to police and the driver was arrested, but amazingly, the @CPSUK Crime Prosecution Service, decided NOT to pursue the case. The NGO campaign against @antisemitism then provided David with the necessary legal backing to seek justice. All of a sudden, the CPS changed their minds and decided to prosecute. Lindo was charged with racially aggravated intentional harassment, for locking Jewish passenger, David Abraham aboard a bus for around an hour and making antisemitic remarks. Lindo is due at Thames Magistrates' Court on 16th November. Credit to Campaign Against Antisemitism for standing with victims of antisemitic abuse. Shame on yhe @CPSUK for once again, failing to do their job and protect members of the public

On a brief trip to Jerusalem yesterday, I managed to get something I’ve long coveted. It’s an ancient Judean coin turned into a necklace. It’s an incredible 2000 years old bronze prutot from the time of the Emperor Claudius - celebrating the birth of the emperor’s son Britannicus. The Roman province was being by administered by Antonius Felix (52-59 CE). It was just a few years since Jesus had been killed and the early Christians were still seen as a Jewish sect and going to the Temple in Jerusalem. It was a Jewish state and had been for more than 500 years. Just a few years later, after a rebellion, the Romans sacked Jerusalem and expelled the Judeans: the Jews. Some were taken as slaves, others fled. A few stayed, impoverished, treated badly and often even refused permission to go to the Western wall, all that remained of the great temple. The descendants of those who fled ended up in all corners of the world but the desire to return always remained a central hope: particularly as in almost every land Jews were reminded they were outsiders, foreigners, not wanted, at best treated as second class citizens, at worse, ethnic cleansing and genocide. So when ignorant people say Jews took someone else’s homeland I ask them to think about this history. When the Zionists returned to their brethren in what is now the state of Israel, they joined Jews who had been there for centuries. There has always been room to share: just this week the world has been forced to see that there is a very politically active Arab minority living in Israel who took part in the vote for the only democracy in the Middle East. And I would ask these antizionists who hate us so, who deny this is our homeland too, where would you like the Jews to go?

A doctor rapes a patient. The victim reports it. THE DOCTOR ADMITS IT. He tells a hospital committee that it was a "one off" and he will not do it again. THE MANAGEMENT SAYS THAT IS OK. And allow him to carry on working. THE POLICE TAKE NO ACTION. The hospital concerned is the BLACKPOOL VICTORIA HOSPITAL. The same hospital where a 75 year old patient was raped to death and no one was ever convicted for it. Are women worth nothing to the NHS? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c172…

Tonight, my family and I experienced something no family should ever have to go through. Our restaurant, Singh’s Dining Restaurant in Hammersmith, was attacked by a group of Islamists. We had been receiving death threats every single day, including one that specifically warned us that 28 October would be our last day. We raised our concerns, and the @metpoliceuk were aware of the threats. Yet tonight, we found ourselves facing the very nightmare we had feared. My daughter had to close the shutters just in time. I cannot even begin to imagine what might have happened if she hadn’t acted so quickly. We could have lost someone in our family tonight. The attackers reportedly tried for a long time to break through the shutters to get inside, leaving shortly before the police arrived. We have serious concerns about how the attackers knew when to leave, and whether they were alerted before the police arrived. These concerns deserve a thorough and transparent investigation. Tonight, I am left facing a heartbreaking decision, Do we keep our doors open and risk our lives, or do we shut down the business we have worked so hard to build because I don’t serve Halal food. No family should ever have to choose between their livelihood and their safety. No one should have to live in fear in their own place of work. I am angry. I am heartbroken. I am frightened for my family’s safety. I am calling on the @metpoliceuk to take these threats seriously, investigate tonight’s attack thoroughly, and ensure that my family is protected. Please share this post. Let our voices be heard. We should not have to wait for someone to lose their life before our safety is taken seriously. Enough IS Enough. #Justice
