Back in the 1980s, the WWF teamed up with Mountain Dew for a promotional campaign that put wrestling superstars on soda bottles and into everyday stores and gas stations across America. Hulk Hogan, Hercules and other familiar faces from the WWF’s national expansion were part of an era when wrestling merchandise wasn’t limited to arena souvenir stands. Fans could walk into their neighborhood convenience store and find their favorite wrestlers staring back at them from a Mountain Dew bottle. A great piece of 1980s WWF advertising history, when professional wrestling was becoming part of mainstream American culture.
