Can we make it cheaper to live in London?
Today I’ve published research on how we can cut rents in London - by an average of £251 a month for a two bedroom flat in Lambeth.
How? By meeting England’s housebuilding targets.

Don’t repeat China CCP propaganda. It exposed the cost of betting too much on a fragile Chinese market. For political reasons, ideology AND the economy.

This is the root of russia’s plan to annihilate the Ukrainian people.
Beyond the absurdity of invoking fanciful genetic theories, Putin makes it clear that Ukrainians have no right to exist: they must either identify as russian or be eliminated.
There can be no peace with russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin cited genetics to declare that Russians and Ukrainians are “one people” and reiterated his claim to Ukrainian territory, saying: “I think that it is not their territory but the historical territory of Russia.” wapo.st/48aZaZF

American living in Oslo here- My kids go to a daycare that I could never possibly afford in the U.S. Outside for hours every day, daily lunch provided, weekly field trips. The U.S. could never.
Norway is welcoming. Filled with kind people and community.
Hope this helps.
WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE
President Trump escalated his invective against Norway, calling it a ‘shit house country’ and saying Norwegian immigrants are not welcome in the United States because the Nobel committee, based in the capital Oslo, has not awarded him a Peace Prize reut.rs/3U1joSt

It’s really dumb that there’s no bike lane
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount.
Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success.

This is key. Outside EU, UK will follow most EU rules, with no say and without the benefits. Inside, we'll have a leading role + UK business will have a level playing field with EU partners/competitors. Re: free movement -we need workers, in or out. Brits need opportunities in EU

Despite the croaky voice...I made the case why an elected second chamber would be stronger in carrying out the Lords role of scrutiny and reforming government legislation
In 1911, Parliament promised the Lords would one day give way to an elected chamber.
Today a bill in the Lords asked only that ministers consult on a replacement. Paul Scriven pressed the government for a firm date.

The only thing stopping the PM having an honest discussion is Labour’s EU red lines.
Removing them will get our economy growing and give us the chance to join the EU Migration and Asylum Pact.
That’s how we create a controlled, fair and safe asylum system.

The "quality" of new build developments in London and across the country is a huge problem affecting our generation seeking to buy their first homes. Defect-ridden flats appear to be everywhere. The housing crisis needs an honest debate on what we build, not how many we build.

🇪🇺 UE chce usunąć jedną z największych barier rozwoju europejskich firm.
23 października Rada UE przyjęła stanowisko w sprawie EU Inc., tj. nowej, wspólnej formy prawnej przedsiębiorstw, dostępnej we wszystkich 27 państwach Unii.
W UE obecnie funkcjonuje ponad 60 krajowych form prawnych spółek. Rozdrobnienie przepisów zwiększa koszty i utrudnia europejskim przedsiębiorstwom osiąganie efektu skali, z którego korzystają firmy na ogromnym rynku amerykańskim.
EU Inc. to część szerszej strategii „One Europe, One Market”, której celem jest usuwanie barier wewnętrznych i pogłębienie integracji gospodarczej UE do końca 2027 roku.
