It’s not at all overall healthier.. not even close. More injuries, especially head injuries happen to QBs who slide than any other play. By far.

To express just how dangerous this is, in theory, it could go both ways.
Imagine a coach calling a timeout with one second left to attempt a game winning field goal only for the league to call down and inform everybody their special clock actually ran out and the game is over.
Sorry coach. You weren’t basing decisions on the scoreboard clock were you?
