🚨 Michael Carrick explains why he benched Bruno Fernandes against Bournemouth after their public disagreement over Manchester United’s tactics. 🎙️ Interviewer: “Michael, Bruno Fernandes has been dropped to the bench for the Bournemouth game following his comments after the defeat to Como. Given his importance to the team, are you concerned about the reaction this decision might cause?” 🎙️ Michael Carrick: “Concerned? Not in the slightest. I think people need to understand that this is Manchester United, not Bruno Fernandes Football Club. Nobody is bigger than the badge, and I will not allow any player to behave as though their position in this team is guaranteed. “After the Como game, Bruno decided to question our tactical approach publicly. That’s his choice. But every choice has consequences, and I have made mine. I am not going to sit here and pretend that everything is fine just because he is the captain. “Let me tell you something. I would rather lose a game with eleven players who respect the instructions than win one with players who believe they can do whatever they want. Discipline comes first. The moment you allow one player to believe he is above the manager, you have lost control of the dressing room. “Bruno has been told what I expect from him. He knows the standards, he knows the rules, and he knows why he is sitting on that bench today. I will not explain myself repeatedly to a player who should already understand what representing this football club means. “And let me make this absolutely clear: his armband does not protect him, his reputation does not protect him, and his past performances do not protect him. If he wants to play for Manchester United, he will do it on my terms and within the team’s structure. “If he responds positively, works hard and proves he deserves his place, he can come back into the team. If he doesn’t, he will remain on the bench. I have no problem making that decision for as long as necessary. “I didn’t come to Manchester United to make friends or keep superstars happy. I came here to restore standards. And if certain players cannot accept that, they are free to be unhappy. I will not lose sleep over the feelings of a player who thinks he is bigger than the club.”

Carrick applauded. Players Booed. It's the players that is the problem. Not Carrick, Amorim, ten Hag, or Solskjaer. Bruno Frnandes has been a player under them all. #RedDevils #ManUtd

Come on, England, let us see the written proof that you did not annex Scotland in the early 1700s using threats of force after boycotting our economy, investment and major ports and paying off Scottish traitors with land, property, silver and gold.

So, in 2016. With Brexit. Power was removed from Brussels. And given directly to Westminster. Scotland became poorer as a result. 🤔

I met a number of well known #SNP members and they all said the SNP has been hijacked and is controlled by dark forces. I've known this for several years but it's good to see and hear others have had their eyes opened. Now the question is what to do about it? The #SSRG Stand was busy selling books.

#IndependenceNothingLess – tbc ift.tt/2gtJdWz Scotland’s Independenistas v Westminster Chains For Scotland’s right to decide The pro independence line maintains that throughout history, as referenced in the Declaration of Arbroath1320 and the Claim of Right 1689, Scotland’s people are sovereign and hold the democratic right to decide their future. The Acts of Union 1707 did not extinguish Scotland as a nation; Scotland is a country, not a county. Denial of a referendum blocks democracy. A different route to enable a vote on independence is a right reserved to the people of Scotland, historically and legally. The pro-Union line Westminster is the supreme legal authority and the only valid route to a vote on Scotland’s constitutional future must be mutually agreed, authorised or granted by Westminster. The Scotland Act 1998 binds the Scottish parliament which is a creature of statute and according to the Supreme Court decision of November 2022 lacks the legitimate power to hold a legally binding referendum on independence. The case for ‘collapsing Holyrood’ There are two routes to this. If the First Minister resigns and a replacement is not elected within 28 days an election is automatically triggered. The parliament can pass a motion proposing an extraordinary general election; that requires two-thirds support – 86 out of 129. 73 pro-independence MSPs currently sit meaning 13 others need persuaded. If (1) occurs the ensuing election will require only one pro independence candidate per constituency and a managed list vote so as to attain an overwhelming majority for independence. All pro independence candidates must stand on the #IndependenceNothingLess strapline to secure success. Naturally Westminster will say this is over reach and that, as power devolved is power retained, the resulting majority for Independence can safely be ignored. Scotland’s reaction to that needs the smartest, most courageous and fly among us. International recognition and support are vital. Most importantly, the campaign for Independence will only succeed when Scotland’s people have self-belief and the drive to maintain unity of purpose is shared and promoted by all within the movement. The Westminster route to independence We need only a majority of independence supporting MPs to be elected. Again it is necessary that there be but one #IndependenceNothingLess candidate in each constituency. Crucially though the best outcome is a majority of the popular vote too. It is within reach with co-ordinated honest explanations of the cost of the Union and the benefits of creating our own future where all policies from housing to energy, defence to foreign aid, the economy, planning, taxation, indeed all our aspirations are decided by the people who live in Scotland. For the fearties An entirely valid legal first step, a toe dipped into the turbulent waters, is a referendum under the Referendums (Scotland) Act 2020 where the single question put is – do you believe Scotland should have the power to hold a referendum on Independence. That’ll get the ball rolling. #IndependenceNothingLess #ItsScotlandsOil #BairnsNotBombs #ScotlandIsACountryNotACounty

They taught the colonized child to see the world through the colonizer’s eyes. And then, when the colonized child grew up and looked through those eyes and saw themselves... They saw what the colonizer saw. "Backward." "Primitive." "In need of development." Behind on a timeline whose destination was someone else’s present. This is the wound that outlasts the empire. The guns go. The administrators go. The flags come down. But the curriculum stays in the mind. The habit of measuring yourself against a standard that was designed without you. The reflex of looking at your own culture and asking, involuntarily, what the colonizer would think of it. The deep, persistent, half-conscious belief that modernity is something you are still catching up to rather than something you were always building in your own way. This is why independence was necessary but not sufficient. You can remove the occupier without removing the occupation of the mind. Decolonizing the curriculum was not a symbolic act. It was the harder and more fundamental liberation. The liberation of the internal landscape. The recovery of the right to know what you knew before they told you it didn’t count.

Oh look, English parties congratulating each other over looting Scottish resources.
"Last week I asked the prime minister to stop faffing about. So can I thank him for finally approving the Jackdaw gas field." Kemi Badenoch asks if Labour will scrap the ban on all new oil and gas licences, the PM replies that his government has made a "pragmatic decision."
