You can cancel an election and ban the winner from running (Romania), you can ban your opponents from ever running again (Hungary), you can threaten to ban the main opposition party and subject it to relentless investigations by the secret police (Germany), you can threaten a ban on the leading presidential candidate and make them wear an ankle monitor (France), every member of your circle can be investigated for corruption (Spain), you can try and cancel local elections because you will lose them (Britain), and you can storm the constitutional court with riot police because you want to control it (Poland). You can just do all these things. The secret is you just have to be on the right side of the European Commission.

I kinda hate that we are now accepting “judgement” as a proper spelling. I worked hard to learn how to spell it right when I was a kid.

It is crazy that this story is being reported by foreign media outlets and hasn’t been reported by a single legacy media outlet in South Africa.

THE NATION IS ON FIRE. We have a government that is completely out of control. This is worse than the dying days of Whitlam. 🔥The Prime Minister has misled Parliament in a desperate attempt to cover up the corrupt up the $6 million Marrickville Golf Club affair. 🔥The regime bullied Helen Haines by leaking a dirt sheet simply for speaking out against Albanese’s Marrickville Golf Club rort. 🔥They appear to have attempted to bribe a One Nation MP by offering him an extra $200,000 per annum staffing allowance — conduct that looks like a criminal offence under the Criminal Code. 🔥Ministers, including the Attorney-General, have been caught red-handed rorting their travel allowances and were forced to pay the money back. 🔥A clueless nincompoop in Chris Bowen is destroying our national electricity grid, driving power prices through the roof, and surrendering the competitive advantage Australia once held in low-cost energy. Businesses are shuttering shops across the country as a direct result. 🔥The biggest infrastructure project in the nation, Snowy 2.0, is a national embarrassment of financial incompetence — a giant money pit. The original $2 billion budget has blown out to between $40 and $50 billion, and it may still climb higher. 🔥A disgraced former New Zealand Prime Minister is being rewarded with a “Professor” title to farcically lecture on cohesion at the University of Sydney — an institution that already receives more than $1.2 billion in taxpayer funding. 🔥Meanwhile the economy is collapsing. Unemployment is rising. The government has lost control of inflation. Interest rates are set to rise again on Melbourne Cup day. 🔥GDP per capita is going backwards. Homelessness is at record levels. 🔥Productivity is in freefall. Productive businesses such as the Blayney Gold Mine are being blocked on fictitious grounds. 🔥Millions of taxpayer dollars are being spent apologising for paedophiles while the same government passes new laws to censor free speech, claiming they are “protecting the children.” 🔥Our military is under attack. They are persecuting Ben Roberts-Smith. They are trying to sell off Victoria Barracks. Our two largest naval vessels cannot put to sea. And they are planning to rewrite the War Memorial with exhibitions designed to shame Australians over the fact that Aboriginal societies were rescued from the Stone Age. 🔥Dodgy Dan Andrews is pulling the Prime Minister’s strings, having him attend suspect meetings with dodgy Chinese billionaires who are in dispute with the tax office. 🔥biological men are being given free rein to invade women’s and girls’ toilets and changerooms. 🔥Crime is surging. Home invasions, carjackings and machete mayhem — once foreign to Australia — are now everyday events under this government. 🔥Children are being so brainwashed by the Marxist infiltration of our education system that they planned to protest on Remembrance Day. 🔥Unprecedented rates of mass migration are being deployed as a tool to import Labor voters, as more and more Australians are feeling like foreigners in their own land.

I'm not 67 YET but getting closer, but ALL of this is true! I need to make a very PUBLIC announcement on behalf of those of us who are 60-something. If you see a 67-year-old who seems a little boring now, understand something… WE ALREADY GOT IT IN. Like…GOT. IT. IN. 😂 We’re not sitting home on Friday night because we never knew how to have fun. We’re sitting home because WE’VE HAD ENOUGH FUN FOR THREE LIFETIMES. We went to parties in farmhouses, machine sheds, gravel pits and cornfields. Nobody sent a location because THERE WERE NO CELL PHONES. Somebody just said, “There’s a party out at Johnson’s.” Which Johnson? Nobody knew. But somehow 75 people found it. We cruised Main Street for hours with absolutely nowhere to go. Gas was cheap, the music was loud, and somehow 11 people fit into a car made for five. We drank Boone’s Farm, cheap beer and mysterious concoctions somebody handed us in a plastic cup. Nobody asked what was in it. You drank it and trusted the process. We closed down the bar and instead of doing the responsible thing and GOING HOME… somebody would yell: “RED ROOSTER!” Or… “LET’S GO TO THE BOONDOCKS!” And suddenly at 2:30 in the morning, the whole crew was sitting around a table eating eggs, hash browns and greasy breakfast food like we’d just finished a hard day’s work. Then somebody would say: “Well…might as well stay up now.” 😂😂 There was no Uber. No GPS. No Life360. No Find My Friends. There was just somebody saying: “Follow me. I know a shortcut.” And for reasons nobody can explain… WE FOLLOWED HIM. We made entire weekend plans without sending ONE text message. “Meet me there around 8.” That was the plan. And somehow everybody showed up. We did stupid things. We did REALLY stupid things. And the greatest gift our generation ever received was: THERE WERE NO CAMERA PHONES. There are events from approximately 1975 through 1985 that exist only in the memories of the people who were there. AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHERE THEY NEED TO STAY. So yes… Now we’re 67. We like our recliners. We like comfortable shoes. We like restaurants at 5:00. We like being home by 8:00. And if somebody calls at 9:30 and asks: “What are you doing?” The answer is: “Why the hell are you calling me this late?” 😂 We’re not boring. WE’RE RETIRED FROM ACTIVE DUTY. We’ve already closed the bars, stayed out until sunrise, made questionable decisions and somehow lived to tell about it. So when younger people see us peacefully sitting at home and think: “Man, you guys are boring.” Sweetheart… YOU’RE NOT LOOKING AT BORING OLD PEOPLE. YOU’RE LOOKING AT RETIRED LEGENDS. And thank God there isn’t much photographic evidence.

UPDATE: The amount of articles covering the horrific attack on and torture of farmer Donovan Marx on major South African media platforms such as @News24, @IOL, @eNCA, @SABCNews, @DailyMaverick, @mailandguardian, @Sowetan1981, and @City_Press remains at a shocking ZERO. These media outlets have blood on their hands for helping feed farm murder denialism and contributing towards the political cover-up of these grusome attacks. Next update tomorrow.
UPDATE: Still no coverage of the horrific attack on and torture of farmer Donovan Marx on News24, IOL, eNCA, SABC News, Daily Maverick, Mail&Guardian, the Sowetan, or City Press. Naked bias on display. The media are complicit in the farm murders/attacks cover-up.

Yep. When I taught German to immigrants, I was confronted with exactly that mindset time and again. It was impossible for them to see the connection between education, hard work, and material wealth. Some wouldn't even understand why they should actually be able to speak or understand German, and that somehow getting the certificate wasn't enough.

52,000 Christians have been murdered in Nigeria and almost no one in the media wants to talk about it. The attacks keep hitting Christian villages and churches while headlines bury the religion of the victims. This has been going on for years with the same pattern of silence from major outlets. Every innocent life lost in these attacks deserves to be acknowledged, and families deserve justice regardless of their religion. What frustrates me is when people turn human suffering into an argument instead of asking how these killings can be stopped. No community should have to live in fear. I wish the current Pope would take a stronger stance in this matter, rather than just generally condemning violence. He’s too busy having tea with his Muslim friends. It is outrageous that nothing is being done by the international community. Any protests for this. Or no room only Palastian lives matter. The left does not talk about it because it does not fit into their worldview and to avoid upsetting your voters from Muslim circles!

Medicine prescribed going without food for 2,400 years, and then a cereal company bought a magazine. 400 BC: Hippocrates tells the sick to stop eating. Feeding an illness, he says, is how you keep one. 100 AD: Plutarch writes that a day without food beats a day of medicine. Nobody in Rome finds this controversial. 200 AD: Galen, physician to emperors, puts fevers on a fast and gets paid in gold for it. 1025: Avicenna writes the textbook Europe will teach from for six hundred years. His cure for most things is three weeks without dinner. 1200s: the Church takes meat, butter and lard off the table for a third of the year and calls the result a healthier soul. The lord keeps the venison. The peasant keeps the fast. 1527: Paracelsus calls fasting the greatest remedy, the physician within. He is drunk for a lot of his career and still right about this. 1742: Benjamin Franklin prints that the best of all medicines are rest and fasting. Poor Richard sells ten thousand copies a year. 1880: Dr Henry Tanner goes forty days without food in New York, under medical watch, with newspapers printing his weight daily. He walks out and lives to 1919. 1900: Dr Edward Dewey, a working physician in Pennsylvania, publishes a book. Its title is The No-Breakfast Plan. It goes through many printings. Patients get better. Nothing is sold. 1911: Upton Sinclair tries fasting on himself, feels extraordinary, and writes The Fasting Cure. It is a bestseller. 1917: a nutritionist called Lenna Cooper writes that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The magazine is Good Health. The magazine is published by the Kellogg family. The Kellogg family sells breakfast. 1925: a public relations man called Edward Bernays is hired by a bacon company. He writes to 4,500 doctors asking whether a hearty breakfast is healthier than a light one. They say yes. Bacon sales rise. The hearty breakfast is now science. 1965: a Scotsman called Angus Barbieri walks into a Dundee hospital at 33 stone and fasts for 382 days on water, tea and vitamins, with the doctors taking bloods throughout. He leaves at 12 stone and stays there. It goes in the record books and out of the textbooks. 1990s: the gym decides that three hours without protein destroys muscle. The protein is for sale at the desk. 2003: a study finds that people who eat breakfast are leaner. The people who eat breakfast also tend not to be shift workers, smokers or hungover, and nobody reads past the headline. 2016: a Japanese biologist wins the Nobel Prize for showing what a cell does when you stop feeding it. It cleans house. The prize is given in Stockholm with a banquet. 2024: a conference abstract announces that intermittent fasting is linked to a 91% rise in heart deaths. It is based on two days of food recall from a decade earlier. It is on every front page by lunchtime. 2026: the surgery hands you a sheet that says skipping breakfast is a risk factor, next to a bowl of cornflakes in the illustration. Twenty-four centuries of physicians starving the sick and watching them get up. One century of a bacon firm, a cereal firm and a protein desk, and the oldest cure in medicine is now a thing your doctor has been trained to warn you about. Hippocrates had no funding. That turns out to have been his only error.

Never forget: They’re not building a surveillance state because WE are the criminals. They’re building it because THEY are the criminals. And they'll weaponize it against ANYONE who dare challenge their power, privilege, and impunity.

The National Party leaders did not possess some magical, predictive genius. They simply understood a basic, universal law of civilization: if you run a country using rigorous administrative discipline, strict engineering standards, absolute meritocracy within your civil service, and a zero-tolerance policy for infrastructural neglect, the lights stay on, the trains move, and the currency holds value. That isn't a "Western" secret or an apartheid phenomenon; it is the baseline requirement for running any industrial economy, whether in Zurich, Tokyo, or Pretoria.

The left vs right are still locked in their endless ideological battle, each using Hitler and Stalin as their favourite historical “gotcha.” But they consistently overlook the ONE THING those dictatorships had in common. The surrender of individual liberty to a centralised authority powerful enough to dictate how people should live. Architects of society. And while everyone is at each other's throats on domestic matters, a new monster is coming. Modern liberalism to advance statism. The danger isn't confined to the individual subordinated to the state anymore. It now extends to the state itself being subordinated to a global political agenda, reducing sovereign nations to little more than satellites through which supranational institutions advance their ideology. This form of authoritarianism doesn't need an invading army. It doesn't need a dictator standing on a balcony delivering grand speeches. It comes quietly, through legislation, international agreements, policy frameworks and the language of progress. And it all happens while you remain under the illusion that you're in control of your own country. Worldwide, national identity is eroded. Borders are losing their significance. Cultural traditions are obstacles to progress. Even understandings of human identity are challenged, to the point where questioning whether or not a boy can be a girl has become offensive. Past dictators askeded people to surrender freedoms. The new authoritarianism convinces you that surrendering it is progress. By the time most wake up to it, the very institutions they thought once protected their freedoms will no longer have the power to restore them. Have a cookie.

A Restore Britain Government will run a fast-track recruitment campaign to bring thousands of British veterans into immigration enforcement roles - field roles. Using their unique skills to detain and then deport the illegal migrant population.

Orwell's great observation in "Nineteen Eighty-Four" was that to shrink a person's vocabulary is to shrink his capacity to think. An impoverished version of English removes the mental tools needed to formulate and communicate complex (and dissenting) ideas. Such is the deep, complex relationship between language and thought. We don't read "difficult books" to say that we've read difficult books. We read them because they expand the boundaries of what we are capable of thinking and feeling — we ascend to their level. Vocabulary helps us to recognize truths otherwise beyond our grasp. This revelation is worse than you may think. This must be reversed.
I am speechless. Thomas Aquinas College just dropped a study on the rigor of the new SAT. It compares the 1980/87 test with 2026. The findings should terrify every parent and teacher... Vocabulary has collapsed. Old SAT: 70.6% of questions tested vocab. New SAT: 15%. The old test forced students to know a wide range of words through analogies, antonyms, and sentence completions. The new test abandoned that. Most vocab questions now just ask students to fill in one blank from context. Reading passages also got radically shorter (average ~97 words vs 300–340). The new test uses short expository passages and hands you the necessary background knowledge inside the text. The older tests leaned much more heavily on argumentative and persuasive writing, assumed far more historical, scientific, and cultural knowledge, and penalized students who lacked it. This is a redefinition of what "college readiness" means. If you believe that kids should develop rigorous vocabulary, be capable of sustained reading, and possess background knowledge, I have bad news for you. The SAT no longer measures these. If you want a future where children can actually read difficult texts and construct complex arguments, the SAT must be replaced now. This cannot go on.

Silence. Denial. Avoidance. A young South African man. A farmer. A son. A brother. His life changed forever. His body tortured. His flesh hacked, torn, cut. Shot. Stabbed. Beaten. Attempted castration. His ears chopped to pieces. Silence. Denial. Avoidance.
