By the way, @ConfluenceEvent is not a Johnadek production. There are people behind this thing. People doing the work, solving problems, people sacrificing weekends, arguing over tiny details, importantly people keeping me sane. 🤣 I'll introduce some of them soon.

Phew! I almost missed today. As the day draws near, the pressure becomes much. Anyway, I want someone in Lagos to see @ConfluenceEvent and think “Wait, there's a serious tech event happening in Ogbomoso? I need to be there.” That's the goal. And yeah, this is not because Lagos/other major cities aren't great, but because I believe opportunity should not have a postcode.

Hot take: Being a founder is hard. Organising events is harder. Let me explain.. as someone who has lived both realities 😂 As a founder, you can move a product launch. You can fix a bug tomorrow. You can quietly change the roadmap. Try telling 500 people to come back next week because your event isn't ready. 😂 Organising @ConfluenceEvent has taught me things about leadership, negotiation, resource allocation, partnerships and crisis management that I don't think I'd have learned as quickly building a startup alone. You learn to make difficult decisions with limited resources. You learn that a verbal commitment isn't money in the bank. You learn to work with people who have completely different interests and still find a way to make things happen. And you learn that no matter how good your vision is, people will judge you by what you actually deliver. Founding a company is hard. But organising a large-scale event, especially at a grassroot level? That's a different kind of madness!! 😂

What would make @ConfluenceEvent successful? Yes we want a packed room, but not just this. We want someone to leave with: A new idea, a new friend, a new opportunity, a new collaborator, a new job, a new customer, a new direction. If that happens, we did something right. #Confluence2026
