Another round of businesses targeted by criminals, another round of costly repairs, and more hardworking Chicagoans left dealing with the consequences.
Public safety cannot begin AFTER a crime has already happened. We need prevention, enforcement, and accountability.
As your Republican nominee for Congress in IL-01, my Results First agenda outlines federal actions I would pursue to strengthen public safety:
1. MORE POLICE SUPPORT: Strengthen federal grants that help CPD recruit, hire, retain, and equip additional officers.
2. PREVENTATIVE POLICING: Support federal investments in crime analysis, surveillance technology, and intelligence-led policing.
3. PUBLIC SAFETY COUNCILS: Convene law enforcement, federal agencies, prosecutors, and business owners to coordinate solutions.
4. CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT: Push for hearings and stronger reporting requirements to determine whether federal public safety funding is delivering measurable results.
5. FEDERAL LEGISLATION: Pursue legislation that strengthens coordination against organized criminal networks and repeat offenders operating across jurisdictions.
Let's be clear: Congress does not control CPD's daily operations.
But Congress CAN strengthen funding, pass legislation, conduct oversight, and bring agencies together to address persistent public safety problems.
We cannot rebuild Chicago's economy while businesses are repeatedly forced to absorb the costs of criminal activity.
Our police need support. Our businesses need protection. Our taxpayers deserve results.
On November 3, examine the candidates' public safety plans, demand greater accountability, and make your voice heard at the ballot box.

A federal jury convicted Muna Wais Fidhin on all nine counts of wire fraud, bribery, and money laundering Wednesday, in just the third Feeding Our Future fraud case to go all the way to trial. Most defendants convicted in the massive scheme have pleaded guilty.
Prosecutors proved Fidhin falsely claimed to serve more than 300,000 meals to children at two small Burnsville locations, one in a medical office building and another in a strip mall.
She billed nearly $969,000; received about $656,000, and paid kickbacks to participate in the meal program.
Prosecutors said she used fraud proceeds to help pay off her Savage home and a Lexus SUV. The jury convicted her after about 80 minutes of deliberations. She remains on electronic monitoring pending sentencing.

Police stood over ex-Cowboys star Dez Bryant with a rifle as he lay cuffed face-down in a Texas parking lot.
Bryant says a driver threatened to shoot him. Police found no gun, then cited Bryant for assault.
It happened Sunday around 1 PM outside Chiloso Mexican Bistro in Southlake. Bryant says two drivers cut him off, and one hinted he'd shoot him. Bryant admits warning, "You pull that gun… you better use it because if you don't I'm going to do something to you," and knocking the man's phone from his hand.
Police say callers reported a fight and a possible weapon, so officers drew guns as a precaution.
Bryant, 37, got a Class C citation. He says his daughters watched, an officer told him to "be the bigger person," and the probe was "very one-sided."

🚨BREAKING: Former Florida Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago — the country where she was born.
Carroll is a Navy veteran and trailblazing public servant who made history in 2010 as Florida’s first Black lieutenant governor and the first woman to hold the office.
If confirmed by the Senate, she would become one of the highest-ranking Black women from Northeast Florida to represent the United States abroad.

Why isn’t the media giving more attention to the possibility of two Black Republican leaders reaching these historic milestones?
Could it challenge the narrative that Republicans are inherently racist?
Black Americans should be free to think independently, choose their political party, and support candidates based on their values—not be told which party they must belong to because of their race.
Representation should matter regardless of party affiliation. And if we truly believe in diversity, shouldn’t we celebrate it on both sides of the political aisle?
