Today, October 30th, my dad has been killed in action. My kind, calm father. I write it here because I know my dad has many friends in the NAFO community, people who he could rely on for help. His memory will perdure on this account. Forever loved and missed. 🛡️🕯️❤️

The US Healthcare system must be changed. Health isn't a luxury for greedy bastards to make money from while peple suffer..
Families are now paying nearly $7,500 a year for health insurance, per Business Insider. Health costs are one of the biggest pressures on household budgets: 28% of Americans had trouble paying for medical care in the past year, per Pew.

A strong decision by the U.S. State Department – authorizing Ukraine’s purchase of Patriot interceptors to counter Russian ballistic missiles. Five hundred PAC-3 interceptors is a substantial number, and very soon – this winter – they COULD make for a highly effective defense package. However, it has been stipulated that deliveries may begin ONLY IN A FEW YEARS. We are asking our American partners to find a solution for the time when there is a real danger and a real need to use PAC-3 interceptors. Right now, the Russians are attacking our energy infrastructure every single day. In just these past two weeks of October, there have already been more than 30 Russian strikes on critical parts of our power grid. It is right now, even before the beginning of winter, that Putin has started carrying out his operation to attack the systems that sustain life in our cities and communities. The targets are electricity, heating, water supplies, bridges, and life in our cities in general. We did ask our American partners to provide Ukraine with a winter support package – at a rate of 100 Patriot interceptors per month. Five hundred missiles would be enough to protect our skies over the coming months – precisely when it is so important for Ukraine to be in a strong position in negotiations and for Russia NOT to succeed in breaking life in Ukrainian cities and communities. The United States, our European partners, and other partners around the world have sufficient stocks of PAC-3 interceptors in their warehouses. Providing them to Ukraine right now – in the winter of 2026–2027 – and replenishing our partners’ arsenals LATER, in THE FOLLOWING YEARS, through this production already contracted and paid for by Ukraine and our partners would be the right approach. And it is entirely feasible. We are grateful to President Trump. Importantly, we recently discussed PAC-3 interceptors with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Ukraine is grateful to the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Administration overall for granting this authorization. But we are asking for decisions that can guarantee the protection of lives not the day after tomorrow or sometime later, but at the very moment the threat is there – when Russia is killing and destroying. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine! state.gov/releases/bureau-of…

A private prison company offered Minnesota an empty prison for 75 million dollars. The state said no. Then Trump’s administration paid the same company almost 500 million for it. The prison has sat empty in Appleton, Minnesota since 2010. Last year CoreCivic emailed the state and offered to sell it for 75 million, upgrades included. Minnesota passed. Fifteen months later, Homeland Security bought it for an ICE detention center at 495.6 million. How could this be? You guessed it. CoreCivic gave half a million dollars to Trump’s inaugural committee. And it still gets paid about 75 million a year to run the place. Republicans love talking about fraud in Minnesota. JD Vance says his task force is all over it. So where are they on this one? I break it all down in today’s show (link in reply).

National COVlD levels would be characterized as "High" (WVAL=5.63) if the CDC did not downshift all level categories, past & present, as of Aug 14. We labeled this an "ethics crisis" on Aug 16 & warned it would slow the public health response when levels worsened. We're here.
BREAKING: COVID in the US has returned to moderate levels. The northeast region of the US saw the biggest increase this week.

A reminder that Elon Musk is a Canadian citizen. His wealth, influence, and U.S. citizenship do not exempt him from Canadian law. He can face criminal charges and arrest if there is evidence that he committed an offence Canada has jurisdiction to prosecute. Some Canadian laws also apply to conduct abroad. There are concrete reasons for Canadian authorities to examine his role in the operation of X and xAI. In June 2026, Canada’s Privacy Commissioner found that both companies violated federal privacy law after launching Grok’s image-generation tool without adequate safeguards. The tool was used to create and share non-consensual sexualized deepfakes targeting women and children. Privacy Commissioner’s findings Those findings concern the companies. The next question is what Musk himself knew and did. What warnings did he receive? What decisions did he make about safeguards? Did he direct, encourage, or knowingly assist conduct that amounts to a criminal offence? Canadian authorities should examine those questions, particularly where Canadian victims are involved. Canada criminalizes the non-consensual distribution of qualifying intimate images. A person who counsels an offence can also bear criminal responsibility when the law’s requirements are met. Establishing Musk’s liability would require evidence of his personal involvement. Criminal Code, section 162.1, section 22 France has already moved to examine that responsibility. In May 2026, Paris prosecutors announced a judicial investigation into X’s operations and requested formal investigation of Musk personally, alongside the companies and another executive. The allegations involve child sexual abuse imagery, non-consensual sexual deepfakes, and unlawful data practices. They remain unproven. Canadian investigators should assess whether evidence from that investigation concerns Canadian victims or offences prosecutable here. Canada’s treason provisions also apply to Canadian citizens abroad. They cover specific acts, including assisting an enemy at war with Canada or armed forces fighting Canadian Forces, and using force or violence to overthrow a Canadian government. A treason charge would require evidence of conduct meeting those conditions. Criminal Code, section 46 If Canadian authorities obtained an arrest warrant, Musk could be arrested upon entering Canada. If he remained in the United States, Canada could seek extradition under the treaty and U.S. law. His US citizenship would not, by itself, prevent it. Canadian authorities should investigate his personal role and pursue charges if the evidence supports them. He should face the same scrutiny as anyone else.
