I never understood this smug indifference to your own political tradition's history. Whatever the USSR's faults and missteps, they still created distinct, non-capitalist form of modernity, a real alternative to the prevailing global economic paradigm
The Left has never been more impotent today, so it's kind of funny to see DSA guys so dismissive of historical socialists who actually accomplished things. This is an organization that can't seem to even pull endorsements from their electoral candidates who literally disavow socialism. It's embarrassing.
