The Left has never been more impotent today, so it's kind of funny to see DSA guys so dismissive of historical socialists who actually accomplished things. This is an organization that can't seem to even pull endorsements from their electoral candidates who literally disavow socialism. It's embarrassing.
Sure, and they'll become largley irrelevant. I doubt really 60% of members would fully leave the org (+ how many of those are active?), especially if they are already in org caucuses, but even if they did the chapter would rebuild under new leadership as others have

Ending military aid is not enough. We need to end U.S. taxpayer funding for Israel’s war crimes, a full arms embargo, and the Palestinian right of return.
There'd be new chapter elections and some interim team to stabilize the chapter, as has happened in various other chapters that have faced major leadership crises or even splits
The leadership knows that if they "split" they can't use the DSA name in any meaningful capacity and national would retain the formal chapter structure. The leadership and some membership could try to form something new, but it would just be another sectarian (on the right) NGO

the language of the resolution is plain: public support of BDS, which hasn't happened. Bowing directly to the Zionist lobby, no pretending, is far more harmful to the cause of socialism by a failure to uphold popular causes that win hegemony in the org than abstract "split" fears
