The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, actually created a new Netflix series about this called The Boroughs. In the show, a miner who lives in New Mexico during the 1940s discovers an alien egg that a telepathic woman named Mother eventually hatches out of. Later, she gives birth to a legion of spider children. She also has the ability to manipulate time, space, and memories. She can even project apparitions of loved ones into people’s minds. But because of the show’s setting, some fans theorize Mother actually represents Crowley’s demon goddess Babalon, who is symbolized by an egg, like Cybele and other ancient deities. Supposedly, Babalon was summoned in the 1940s through a series of rituals, one of them being the Trinity Test, the first nuclear explosion in history, which occurred in New Mexico on July 16, a major feast day dedicated to Mother Mary in the Catholic Church. Ironically, apparitions of Mother Mary increased after this. Apparently, she was warning people about a nuclear Armageddon. However, it’s possible for demons to disguise themselves as saints and angels. And oddly enough, another name for Babalon is Wormwood, a word Russians associate with nuclear disasters. Plus, the plant called wormwood is associated with Artemis, a goddess who’s syncretized with Cybele. In fact, there’s Catholic cults that have syncretized Cybele with Mother Mary! This was because of the satanic Sabbatean Frankists, a group of Jews who infiltrated Christianity. They believed they were speeding up the apocalypse by increasing evil in the world. They believed this was good because it would speed up the coming of a New Age, which would be ushered in by their female messiah simply known as V. But Artemis is syncretized with Venus as well. And Venus lived in a cave, kind of like the mine Mother was found in. So anyways, the theory is Babalon will pose as a female messiah at the end of World War III, which will probably be caused AI. Coincidentally, Mother also acts as a savior at the end of The Boroughs when she sacrifices herself in an explosion of mystical white light.
