This is an understatement - fraud in temporary worker programs was known to the government well before 2017. This is from an RCMP report on human trafficking released in 2010, based on activity from 2005-2009:
💥EXPLOSIVE ATIP: Immigration Canada knew Indian agents were running MASSIVE FRAUD in the trucking industry and the student visa program as early as 2017 — and stamped the evidence "DO NOT DISCLOSE."
According to records released under the Access to Information Act, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) maintained an internal procedures manual for its New Delhi visa office documenting systemic fraud across the student visa and temporary foreign worker streams. The manual instructs officers to treat fraud as anticipated rather than exceptional
The most damning thing about this scandal is not the fraud — it's that the government predicted it, kept it running, and then stamped the file "DO NOT DISCLOSE."
Canada didn't lose control of its immigration system—they monetized it.

The “too tall house” was built as the personal residence for a local builder/developer that sat on the Board of Directors for the Saskatoon & Region Homebuilders Association.
Bylaw appeals are so common for affluent homeowners wishing to game the system.

“Then, a complaint from an unknown person about the height in May prompted an inspection that found the three-storey house exceeded the 8.5-metre maximum height for homes…by more than a metre.”

When I think about all the things that have been going wrong at the city, I wonder who should take responsibility.
I’m not talking about unfortunate events. I’m talking about horrendous screwups - one after the other!
Perhaps a new City Manager is appropriate!
Do not let City Council slide through another unwarranted contract extension for City Manager Jeff Jorgensen tomorrow. We have better options!

My mother told me about receiving a call from someone that sounded like her grandchild. She wasn’t 100% sure so she asked the name of the family cat. The very convincing scammer hung up immediately.

It’s a scam but it’s a government program so that makes it legal.
Still a scam!

A developer got caught in Halifax running two sets of drawings. Sounds like something that would happen in Saskatoon.
Many builders and developers find it much easier to apply for bylaw variances especially when after getting caught.

Wow!
A rare moment when the government acknowledges a mistake within a relatively short timeframe.

Canada has become overwhelmed with an influx of unqualified immigrants that are seeking to build a new life in Canada with government benefits and entry level jobs. This has a massive ripple effect across every demographic.

My son was taught firearm safety at an early age - the same as me and my younger sister.
The basic rules are to treat all firearms as if they are loaded, never point them at something you don’t want to shoot and keep your finger OFF THE TRIGGER until you are ready to shoot!
When an oil company seeks to drill a well, we cannot use modern paperwork/GPS coordinates. We must speak to elders that know the traditional hunting grounds.
If this lawyer uses traditional stories, rather than modern paperwork, to say that she’s indigenous, we must believe her!
