Imagine not being a California nut farmer. Yuck.

My favorite phrase of farming: “Well…shit.”

I can’t wait for this election to be over so we can get back to the nonsense. Cc: @jarvis_best @damintoell @BurtMaclin_FBI @SonnyBunch

As a kid when I went to Summer Camp I always pretended to be a loser and got the other kids to make fun of me just in case there was an observant psychopath in the forest. I knew that he probably had a similar childhood and would take pity on me. It worked. BTH on patreon!

This is the perfect description.
If the price of diesel is up and you give the farmer a check to pay for the increase in diesel, who got bailed out? It's the oil company that got bailed out, the farmer just gets the blame.

Walnut harvest is in full swing. For the big old trees we have to shake each branch individually.

I’m helping the world be a better place!
Replying to @jarvis_best
This is not joking matter Jarvis. The only way to achieve justice is to obsessively tweet very serious things about Lindsay Clancy and the crazy people who support her. All day, every day, very serious tweets. It’s the only way to show you care.

It’s a good day to grab some trees.

Step Four: transfer the almonds from my harvester to the shuttle so the harvester never stops. The shuttle brings the nuts to the truck.
Step Three: pick em up! We use a pull behind PTO-driven harvester. Once the hulls reach 13% or less moisture, they’re ready to go to the huller.

Step two (after 7 days of drying): sweep it into rows to pick up tomorrow. This is a low producing orchard that will be taken out after harvest.

Shake dat
Almond harvest starts for me today! Step one: shake the trees! This machine grabs the trunk, shakes the fuck out of the tree, and the nuts fall on the ground. (👀 @CeliosPrime )

It’s hard to see, but this is what it looks like after we shake. The orchard floor is mostly solid nuts, though this is also a low producing block in its last year of existence. The nuts will dry for a week or so before we sweep into rows.

And then one small stupid part stops the whole operation.
