"I routinely get asked whether it would be okay for a Christian to vote against a candidate simply because they are Muslim. My answer, put bluntly, is an unqualified 'yes.'"
Co-sign, and there is nothing un-Baptist about this position.
I'm a Baptist for whom religious liberty matters greatly. But does supporting religious liberty mean voters cannot take a candidate's religious worldview into account when deciding whether to vote for them? No. With Islam's growing influence, I have a new column at @realDailyWire that helps clarify how religion factors into whether a candidate is fit to serve. dailywire.com/news/the-polit…

Anthropic, the company behind the popular artificial intelligence chatbot @claudeai, has announced a new rule: Don’t be mean to the computer.
In my latest opinion piece for @WNGdotorg, I argue that you cannot sin against a chatbot, but you can certainly sin while using one.

It is very on-brand for Apple to launch a "new" product (that Amazon, Google, and others have offered for years) via a completely insufferable advertisement that subtly undermines the good of family.
I suspect much of the dating advice those of us in Gen X and the Millennial generations give single people today is about as useful as the career advice our parents and grandparents gave to us.
Remember what that was like? They came from a world where "put on a suit, march down to the office, and ask to speak to the manager. Then, look him in the eye, give him a firm handshake, and tell him you are a go-getter" was advice that might land you a job you'd retire from forty years later with a pension and a gold watch.
The problem, of course, was that their well-intentioned advice pertained to a world that no longer existed. These were perfectly sensible strategies when they started their careers that no longer applied to the reality of the 21st-century job market.
Just as our parents often struggled to understand why their perfectly reasonable career advice wasn't particularly helpful to us, my generation seems to be struggling to understand that what worked for us to find a spouse isn't particularly helpful to single people today.

Great opening line from a paper written by @JonHThomason: "In 1651, an Oxford-educated Baptist named Obadiah Holmes was beaten in Boston for his religious views; and ever since, Baptists have been beating him to death."
Effective Altruism is suddenly in the news again because of the debate over AI “doomerism.”
Last year, I wrote at @WNGdotorg about EA's strange moral calculus that treats hypothetical future people, shrimp, and even AI bots as more important than your actual neighbor.
I join @MikeSchneider15 in asking the trustees of the SBC International Missions Board to direct the entity to align its vaccination policy with principles that Southern Baptist messengers have repeatedly and explicitly affirmed. (brief🧵below)
